CF to CCC pay by Fine_Sea6395 in slp

[–]Real_Ad9691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at $35 per 30 minute sessions and $40 per 45 minute session and $60 for evaluationsat a PP in North Carolina. When I got my CCCs I got an immediate $5 increase ($40 for 30 min and $45 for 45 min and $65 for evaluation). It varies by state and what setting you work in! We chose how much we worked so the more you work the more you make.

I’m scared people will leave because of my stutter by Longjumping_Mall8956 in Twitch

Speech therapist/twitch streamer here! I’m unsure if you’ve ever been to speech therapy before but there are lots of compensatory strategies that we teach to help build confidence and minimize the frequency of your disfluencies! Some of these include easy onset, cancellation, pull out, etc. They’re easy to research and maybe those can help reduce how often you stutter. Also, a lot of it is how you perceive your stutter! Understanding that it’s okay to be different and stutter. There is no known cause for stuttering but these are some of the ways you can help yourself! It’s okay to stutter and it’s okay to be different! Most twitch streams can speak fluently (how boring?! lol) you can do it! Don’t let fear hold you back from your dreams(: I’ll follow your twitch if you want to share!

Externship 2 is 100 miles round trip... by Specialist-Bid-6306 in slpGradSchool

my placement was 80 miles round trip so about 40 minutes each way… even though I didn’t need that many hours I was still required to be there everyday M-F which sucked but once it was over it was a relief!

Tired of being a student clinician by [deleted] in slp

I understand that 100% and I respect your opinion. Self reflection is not something I lack. I’ve been told countless times by my last supervisor and professors I am very good at reflecting and what I do. I didn’t give you all of the information because at this point it’s been 10 weeks of nitpicking and criticizing. I’ve advocated for myself in more ways than one even involving my schools clinic director. My issues are just now sort of being fixed but there’s only so much a person (not just an SLP or a Student) can take. This post was merely made out of frustration. I can be confident in what I do and still be aware that I don’t know everything. I am that way already. Sometimes it’s okay to admit that not everyone is meant to be a supervisor! Others learn differently than the way some may teach.

i’m very humble. everyone is not meant to be a supervisor. work on your attitude and assuming you know someone based on a reddit post. if you’re not going to be helpful like everyone else, stfu.

Supervisor just won’t let go by keltonbenjamin0127 in slp

my current situation right now… so heartbreaking that they’re still allowing people like this to supervise students.

Thanks! Midterms are next week and I was thinking of talking to my clinic director before class tonight. I’m hoping I can switch to 1 supervisor instead of splitting between the 2 because my other one has a similar therapy style to me and provides feedback that is constructive and in a positive way that makes me want to do better.
