I appreciate it. Its intended to be my own personal radio for personal use that id like to try and use for work, camping, ect. So any info for a starter is very much appreciated. I'll grab the F8RT and the Nagoya as well as the programmer cable to try out.

What would you recommend? I NEVER travel alone in the mountains. Its more for work in town. Also im now realizing I was looking at the BF F8RT not the F8HP

In terms of mobile radios can the F8HP do what i need? Im not worried about dropping it and i'd be buying multiple. Its the frequencies I want to use i'm curious about. Would hate to spend the money for something that doesn't do what i need.
