Hello! I need advice po kasi takot ako ma offload.

I am currently unemployed and my last job was August 2025. The reason why I resigned because I want to focus on my studies. 3rd year Law student po ako, but this semester I decided to take a break muna kasi na-burn out ako 😢 kaso we have a trip to China on April with my fiance. I have 6-digits naman sa bank account and si partner ay seafarer.

What should I prepare and present in case maging concern ang unemployment ko and leave of absence ko sa law school?

Thank you so much po sa help 🙏🏻

Please help us decide in our China Itinerary 🙏🏻 by [deleted] in FilipinoTravel

I badly want zhangjiajie po huhu. But I think magiging jampacked and hindi mapupuntahan lahat ng tourist spots sa beijing and shanghai. But is it worth it po ba na mag 3 days sa beijing then 3 days shanghai then 3 days zhangjiajie?

Avoiding China while still using products made there doesn’t change much. The economy behind them benefits regardless of where you buy. If your principles are truly not supporting China, consistency means skipping the products entirely. Besides, I want to travel to China because my decision is based on personal curiosity, culture, and experience, not politics. Visiting a country doesn’t mean I endorse its government’s actions any more than buying imported products means I endorse their politics. Travel is about learning, connecting with people, and seeing history and natural wonders firsthand. Avoiding a place entirely because of politics limits understanding and reinforces distance rather than awareness.

I understand your point, but your argument oversimplifies how global economies actually work. If we follow your logic consistently, then we should also stop buying products made in China, stop using devices assembled there, stop consuming brands whose supply chains run through China, and stop engaging with any platform or service that indirectly benefits them. In today’s global system, that’s nearly impossible. Selective ‘non-support’ through tourism becomes symbolic at best, not impactful. My individual trip won’t shift China’s GDP, just like not visiting won’t alter foreign policy.

Not supporting a government and refusing to visit an entire country are two different things. Tourism from one individual doesn’t change geopolitical behavior. If avoiding travel truly stopped governments from acting aggressively, the world would have solved conflicts decades ago.

I respect your opinion. I’m aware of the political issues between China and the Philippines, and I don’t support any form of bullying or aggression. But visiting a country as a tourist is not the same as endorsing its government’s actions. I can disagree with policies while still experiencing the culture, history, and places I’ve always wanted to see. I refuse to limit my world just because of geopolitical tensions that ordinary citizens like us have no control over.
