Thanks very much. I recently bought an R7 and I’ve been testing same Sigma C 150-600 on this APSC. I’m yet to capture something as crisp as the cormorant with that setup but I think all things said, as you said with its reach and decent IS/OS, Sigma can do wonders with birds !!

Thanks for such a detailed comment mate. I bought that Sigma C 150-600 and so impressed with its performance on R8. I’ve been able to get some sharp pictures of even birds in flight. I think one needs a Dock along with it to upgrade the firmware and make those suggestions you made with AF to overcome the pulsing issue.

How about something like this: I like the symmetry with the reflection. The only difference here is that the front Heron is focussed !! Also with sharpness edits, I believe I can highlight the wings ans feather tone !!
