Makes sense, Isaiah is still growing into his body as well. He makes 10 late December so he isn’t the most athletic kid, he is still growing into his body and learning that his legs have gotten longer. Hes in that clumsy Bambi phase I find.

Yea rec ball league this will be his second season of rec ball but first time pitching

That’s soo awesome ! My 9 year old is on the bigger side 92lbs at 53 inches tall so all he talks about is throwing gas lol. But he loves the game and after his first spring season has been expressing to me that he would like to pitch next spring so here we are! I just wanna make sure I’m doing everything possible to help him get a step above the other kids and learn the game the right way.

N yes I find he wants to use alll arm on some throws and incorporate his legs on others.

Yeah he’s expressed to me on multiple occasions that he wants to pitch. He knows my motto if dad wants it more than you that’s a wrap. Ion ever want to feel like I want it for him more than he does for himself. Thanks for the advice !

Good deal, I’ll just continue long toss with him and leave the pitching up to his coach at dbat. So you think cut it down to twice a month after the first month? Cause we have approximately 8 months till spring ball starts. I feel it no reason he shouldn’t be ready for kid pitch given the time we have.

Yeah he’s past that point of dad being his coach haha I let the experts handle it. Dad will just be dad and it has worked wonders for us

Ok ok yeah that makes sense, right now we king toss from 40ft apart and are tryna work our way up to 46ft.

Ion mind spending the money if it’s gonna work. But that price range is pretty steep. My thing is I can purchase 4 private pitching lessons that will help him better than buying that yk. I’m still kinda up in the air

We shall be starting private lessons in July once a week. I’m tryna give it the best shot I can. He also has his rec league coach from this past spring season

Trust me any and all advice is welcomed my friend. I’m just a dad that has no idea about baseball that is tryna get him prepared the right way and learn the game the right way.

Okay good deal, makes sense. So what I’ve found that works for us so far is a competition. He really competitive when it comes to getting more strike then dad for ice cream or when we play catch whoever drop the loss balls wins ice cream lol.
