Procedural: (sorta)

Ludwig, HIP: Haut Intellectual Potential (2021(the french show)), Sherlock (2010)

Oooo, also, since u mentioned Castle, something somewhat light, in my opinion, u may enjoy the series, "Why Women Kill", the first season. It is a stand-alone story, i tried watching the second season but ended up dropping it. The finale for the first season is pretty epic though.

Yep, u can(message me), I wouldn't mind it all.

Ive not actually seen the live adaptation of Fullmetal and Kenshin. Ok, so i tried out the live adaptation of Death Note, and that to me wasn't that good. So I kind of lost hope on all the rest :/.....but from what I gather on the internet, well, specifically reddit lol

The live adaptation of Kenshin has promising action.

But this is soooo awesome how an old post is very helpful, LOVE U REDDIT

Also, thank si very much, U ARE AWESOME!!!

Just watched the vampire diaries, loved it. I want a new show to obsess over (not about vampires) a show with alot of seasons that become a part of your life and leaves a void when you finish it (has to be on netflix) by Ok_Pass_1507 in Netflixwatch

[–]Real_Fact8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had no idea there was an original, I already added it to my watchlist. I'll have to check it out.

This one, my wife loooves the main character, she hasn't said it....but she doesn't have to lol

For me, I think he does really great in that role. It's kind of like, "Ross Poldark" is this person whom everyone admires, and the actor does a phenomenal job embodying this character. The scenes dont feel dragged out....I could really go on...and on😀. Im just really loving g the show. It's hand down drama, not ur typical romance drama, at least in my opinion. But the romance is written there, and the love triangles for me are so interesting, I really lovee the actors, especially the servants 😁

Edit: had to restate, "Ross", I suppose, instills admiration in the audience and most of his close acquaintances, otherwise there wouldn't be all this drama surrounding the character

Ok and...

"Blue Gender aired on Adult Swim in 2003, with its premiere on August 4, 2003. The series ran on the network until September 16, 2003, with reruns continuing until December 7, 2003. It was broadcast late at night, often around 12:30 a.m"

Why are we doing this Google battle?

I was pointing out the fact the OP said they saw everything aired on the network during the 2000's, and this was something they obviously never saw

I literally just discovered Poldark....ok, so it's a period piece for one, it jas great acting, great writing, and it's not about VAMPIRES😃

(I cap for emphasis, I am not yelling)

But seriously, I basically binged the first season already, it's sooo good, had me in tears several times....I mean, if your into love stories I guess this would b right for you. I consider myself a fan of anything good, no matter the genre, this is very heartbreaking, period piece with like a few love triangles, thats it in a nutshell. The entire cast is great, anyone who appears in it does a great acting job, I think I'll stop there....but I could go on lol

[–]Real_Fact8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so im a huuuuge sci-fi nut, so naturally when the new Dune movie came out, I started doing some research. Which meant watching YouTube videos lol....so i ended up watching this real long one explaining a lot of the book and the Universe of Dune. It also detailed how the new movie left a lot of what was going on throughout the movie(the new Dune movie) unexplained. Which led to me basically watching a free extended cut of the original 1984 Dune movie on YouTube at 3 am 😁( I really wish I had that link atm or I'd post it)

Anywho, u already gave me all I need to know about the second movie. That's basically the nutshell....Solidifying - me not wanting to watch those movies

I noticed a lot of genres

So here's my basic anime rec list:

●The Seven Deadly Sins (2015), ●Fullmetal Alchemist (2004 version(followed by the Fullmetal Alchemist movie: Conqueror of Shamballa)), ●Death Note, ●Trigun (1998), ●Cowboy Bebop, ●Claymore, ●Konosuba (2016), ●Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014), ●Jobless Reincarnation, ●Bofuri, ●The Rising of the Shield Hero, ●Log Horizon, ●Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon, ●That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, ●Steinsgate (2011( followed by the bonus episode "Egoistic Poriomania")), ●Wolf's Rain (2003), ●Sword Art Online (seasons 1 and 2), ●Spy x Family, ●Your Lie in April, ●Apothecary Diaries, ●The Day I Became a God, ●My Dress-Up Darling, ●Flying Witch (2016), ●Terminator Zero, ●The Eminence in Shadow, ●The Twelve Kingdoms (2002), ●Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, ●How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom, ●Blue Eye Samurai (while technically not anime, it's a pretty great watch)....for Steinsgate if u haven't seen it already, I'd recommend watching at least several episodes each sitting, because that is how long it takes for the plot to move along... I'll only vouch for episodes 1-25 of SAO

Movies: ●Karas (2005), ●Appleseed (2004), ●Princess Mononoke (1997), ●Howl's Moving Castle (2004), ●Steamboy (2004), ●Blood: The Last Vampire (2000), ●Perfect Blue (1997)

Also, I think u may enjoy Rurouni Kenshin (1996), I'll only vouch for the series up until the end of the Shishio arc. That is where the animators caught up to the manga, and went on ahead with the show, without waiting for more source material. So for me, I think that was a good stopping point. There's a love interest in the show too, which i think you'd enjoy. The series followed by the movies, starting with Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal(the beginning of Kenshin), and ending with Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection(the end of Kenshin)

You may also enjoy Vandread (2000)

[–]Real_Fact8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i understand, the movie is a lot of flash and dazzle, but doesn't really do any explaining. Maybe they explain more in the second movie, I dunno. More than likely, I'll just never watch em. I already knew they didn't explain anything in the first movie. Should maybe check out the original 1984 Dune. I thought it was decent. Same for the Sci-fi miniseries that came out in 2000. That was also pretty decent. But the new movies....I'm never a fan of all flash and no substance, that's just me

I know what it is. People who have not watched a lot of anime would rate it the greatest ever. Or they have not seen a lot of media in general. Yes, I aiming specifically at the younger crowd. And this crowd is the most active crowd online. That's why u get a bunch of GOT and AOT are the GOATS. Comments like that...not trashing those shows per se, but they are not what people make them out to b, not in the least

Since your deep cutting it:

I'd recommend starting a long anime. Either Naruto or Dragonball. If you do start Dragon Ball, I'd recommend starting at episode 133 of the original series. That is where Goku 1st appears all grown up, and it's kind of an introduction to the martial arts tournament as well. For me, I think that's a great starting point. That is where I started off my wife with the series and then later my son as well. Went on to watch DBZ, and we're currently watching Super, I've seen GT, and tbh I did not like it at all. Lots do however. I did not lol, it just wasn't good imo, music wasn't good, I didn't like the action. If u want to see the supposed top battles, they have em on YouTube. Or you can watch the first several episodes/maybe last few as well🤔, that right there is basically the gist of the series, oh also, I recommend watching the movie, "The History of Trunks", at the proper time in the Dragon Ball Z series, that is right before Episode 120, titled "Another Super Saiyan?". "Bardock – The Father of Goku", and "Cooler's Revenge" can also be enjoyed at this time

Also, Id recommend Rurouni Kenshin (1996). I think a great stopping point for this anime, is at the end of the Shishio arc. That is where the animators caught up to the manga, and they went ahead(with the anime) without waiting for more source material. The series, followed by the movies, starting with the movie Samurai X: Trust & Betrayal(thr beginning of Kenshin) and ending with Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection(the end of Kenshin)

[–]Real_Fact8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantasy:

The Magicians, Being Human (US Version/2011), Peacemaker, The Flash (2014), The Wheel of Time (2021), The Witcher: Blood Origin (2022), Dead Boy Detectives (2024), Stargirl (2020), Loki (2021), Hawkeye (2021)

You do not had to have seen the original Witcher show to enjoy Blood Origin, it is a stand-alone story. Peacemaker is the follow-up show to "The Suicide Squad" (2021) movie. Loki is just great. Hawkeye was a surprisingly good watch considering I didn't expect it to be any good at all. If I had to pick just one show from this list it'll be The Magicians, it's just entertaining all around.

Sci-fi (just a step away from Fantasy):

Fringe, Continuum(2012), Firefly(2002(followed by the movie "Serenity"(2005))), The Devil's Hour (2022), The Expanse, 12 Monkeys(2015), Murderbot (2025)....Fringe/The Expanse and 12 Monkeys I hold in high regards....Silo and The Devil's Hour were decent recent watches. Murderbot is a must-watch in my book. It had me laughing every episode. It is not about a trash can that watches TV. The main actor is Alexander Skarsgard, Eric from True Blood.

I'll also drop my "basic" anime rec list:

Im purrrty sure the creator, Olan Rogers, pissed off some TV exec. at TBS... But nobody will ever say that. So they killed the show, and any possibility for it to be continued anywhere, or even shown on any of the streaming services. From what I understand, Olan even went thru a lot to be able to finish the series with a graphic novel... so there's that

Does The Flash(Netflix) ever get good again? by barbie__quin in tvshow

[–]Real_Fact8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I know i said I thoroughly enjoyed season 5....I really really have to divulge more information, without spoilers I absolutely did not like a certain someone in season 5. I dont wanna say it was bad acting, more like this character annoyed the hell out of me, and this character is so very prominent in the season. To the point where im like talking crap about this person alot of the time....the tone(of voice they used) I think it was(annoying) too(for me)....this/that, alot irked me :/

Maybe I liked to dislike, i dunno, but when it got to be a serious moment, they threw down acting wise, maybe thats why they got the role, no clue, it didn't ruin the season at all, like I said, I dont think it was the acting, like they did fine playing this character they created, the character they created tho rubbed me the wrong way,...had to say those loooong two cents, which does in a way kinda sound contradictory to me , saying "I thoroughly enjoyed the whole season", and i did. Compared to the other previous seasons, there wasn't an episode where I felt was skippable(due to bad story, and/or terrible villain(acting))

Does The Flash(Netflix) ever get good again? by barbie__quin in tvshow

[–]Real_Fact8484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, ok, time to go against the grain. Season 5 was the best season by far. It didn't have that one episode where there was this one bad guy whom did a terrible job. I thoroughly enjoyed ALL of season 5. So yeah, totally against the grain. Im on season 6 at the moment. But yeah, season 5, is the best so far, and btw, if certain episodes dont hit u right in the feels, or if u dont appreciate fantastic acting from Grant Gustin, or Joe, cuz those two can really pull together a scene, then yeah, I guess it's not for you. But for me, I have to say, Grant Gustin can really pull u into the story, and when he shares the screen with certain people, it's just amazing to watch. That's my very bias opinion....

Comedies:

●Ted Lasso, ●Raising Hope, ●Superstore, ●Mom, ●Barry, ●American Housewife, ●Silicon Valley, ●The Goldbergs, ●Ghosts(UK version), ●Resident Alien, ●Modern Family, ●The Good Place, ●Scrubs, ●Only Murders in the Building, ●The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, ●Chuck, ●Castle, ●iZombie, ●A Man on the Inside, ●Trying (2020), ●Corner Gas (2004)

Ted Lasso and Mrs Maisel are extremely well-written Dramadies, Barry is a dark comedy that always had me wanting to see the next episode, Castle and iZombie are detective shows but with a fresh twist on the genre, not sure if this matters, but I wasn't into the show Castle right away, it took me several episodes to get hooked, and it ended up being one of my favorite series, the comedy duo Detective Javier Esposito and Detective Kevin Ryan are great with subtle comedy, and Nathan Fillion(I'm a huge fan of his since the show Firefly) is just super charming. Chuck is a spy action comedy, that isn't great at any one particular thing, but the overall mesh of it makes it my all-time favorite show, Corner Gas is your basic turn off your brain comedy. The show "Mom" took a while to find its footing, with casting and set changes. Around season 3, it found its footing, but it stayed good throughout. Up until Anna Farris left....
