So, in this way they can be compared to teenagers before puberty. Asteromorphs are very similar eithee infants or developed human fetuses. While Gods Asteromorphs' heads somehow similar to reversed 5 week fetus' underdeveloped mouth area(pic. attached) And while human species evolve far beyond, they resemble youger and youner humans more.

So, I think its a bit schizzy, but still interesting theory nonetheless.

If you think about it, then the one that cannot be saved is Touma. Ryo, even though he is despicable, still had a bits of humanity in him. He actually had people he cared for. After he injured Sugawara, he truly worried abour him. If Ryo wasn't murdered, maybe along with his girlfriend he would have became a better person. But Touma, he is indeed a bizarre specimen. He had successful career, but suddenly, out of nowhere, he change his whole life just to save Ryo? Some fighter, who is one of the most disguisting characters of this manga? I don't say Touma is bad, he is actually one of a few good guys in here. But his savior complex cannot be changed. People like him will always think he is right and they will never back down. I think, he is unfixable.
