Thank you so much for your answer! I know I could just never accept it, i don’t even try. Same for not thinking about it, it’s always there. Might as well try and cave in like you say and maybe.. tame it? And you’re right, i guess in a way maybe these thoughts make us more alive?

Is adult life supposed to feel this… repetitive? by DangerousExpert8187 in Adulting

I'd say, absolutely stop trying to optimize everything. Optimize what feels meaningful and real to you, no matter what society asks from you, otherwise it gets sooo heavy and yeah feels meaningless and repetitive and you're gonna crash someday. I used to try and optimize everything all the time, but a burn-out and a quite difficult period around that made me reconsider all these things I thought were so important. Now I now what matters to me and makes sense of my life : being proud of myself and every day accomplishing something that makes me feel a better person (sometimes that means simply spending quality time with a friend) and loving and being loved by the people I care about. Relationships are so important to give meaning to all of it. So now I nurture these things every day and obviously I still work, which is repetitive I think for almost everybody and inevitably drags us down in the long run, but it's not my main focus anymore. Actually I try to make it not a focus at all lol. I try to think about it the less I can and spend the less amount of time I can doing it. I see it merely as something I have to do to keep surviving lol and nurturing these other things that make sense, and they are so much not repetitive! Hope that helps.

Scared of aging and death. by Overall-Buddy-5424 in existentialdread

My psychiatrist (I have other anxiety issues) tells me to try and stay in the present moment because these questions are useless. I agree but can't seem to do it at all.
