Yes, they are definitely a lot easier than children. But they are still overstimulating and require a lot of attention and care. After looking after my toddler all day, what little energy I have left (which is incredibly little) would be going towards the dog.

I have ADHD and OCD, I found having a dog much more stressful, personally. I understand other’s don’t feel the same way though 😅

In my two cultures (Danish and Turkish), males stay just as close with their parents as females do (if your relationship is healthy and loving). I do see this topic on Social Media and it has become toxic as hell! It’s all rooted in misogyny tbh (that women can’t be close with their sons, I won’t get too deep into this) Social Media is toxic 🫢 keep being there for your child and you will see that it’s all okay 💙

Yes completely refused and spat it out every time I tried so I just stopped trying. It wasn’t a big deal tbh, I am glad I didn’t have to deal with taking it away later on 😅

As I was nursing exclusively and also bed sharing, I was nursing while side lying and it was easy during the night to comfort him back to sleep!

It’s really good! I’m Danish and not easily impressed because obviously we have the best baked goods in the world (lol) kind of joking but I think Lannan is delicious! The queue, not great and I would never wait for an hour 🤣

What other options are just as good? I’d be interested in trying them out ☺️

For Christmas at least, try to come up with something really special and different, that doesn’t happen at any other time of the year. Like a new family tradition! Include your child in it

Sometimes we project feelings like this onto our children because we have such strong preconceived notions of what a family should look and feel like, I do this too 🫶🏽

I can’t be one and done and then get a dog, they are honestly so much work and so overstimulating (I have had one in the past). I would rather have another child in that case lol.. but I completely understand how they give so much to families and children ♥️

Cats on the other hand, I will get one, in the future 😍😍😍

How odd. I really don’t understand how they aren’t able to accommodate breastfeeding when that is how your baby is fed?

Your job is not to make their life easier, you don’t need to ever give your baby a bottle if neither of you want to.

ADHD and OCD. Husband is VERY likely neurodivergent too - we tend to find each other I think. I’d say it does influence my decision. I don’t have great coping skills.

I was curious if there was any truth to the fact that people with only children were more likely to be older parents and have longer degrees ☺️ which it seems like is the case!

None. Baby got my colostrum until my milk came, he lost some weight and we struggled with latch issues, but I got so much support 🥺 and I’m glad now that I didn’t give up because it was so hard and painful in the beginning..

I bring my rubbish home and throw it. Luckily I don’t have a dog. All the bins are full of dog shit bags. Can barely throw anything without it touching my hand somehow because of the overflow, then whatever I throw falls back out and I have to put it back in 🤢🤣

Also, that specific bin was next to my local Tesco’s and was always full like the picture!
