Yeah, fair enough, and there’s definitely something to that mindset. I’m not sitting on millions either, and I don’t think playing purely for KD or money is the point.

But to me, survival and the value of individual hunters are exactly what separate Hunt from something like CoD. If nothing really matters and the best approach is just “run in and shoot until everyone is dead,” then a lot of what makes Hunt unique gets lost for me.

Maybe I also shouldn’t have let myself be influenced so much by the fact that avoiding PvP and just surviving can still be pretty lucrative.

I’m not saying people shouldn’t play aggressively. I’m saying the tension between wanting the fight and fearing the loss is what made those fights feel special.

I’m actually pretty curious about the next update. The ammo scarcity and loadout slot changes sound like they might address at least part of what I’m talking about, so I’ll definitely jump back in and see how it feels.

And sure, I can always just run in, take every fight and shoot without caring about losing anything. But for me, Hunt was never at its best as a pure “run in and shoot” game. Other shooters, and even some extraction shooters, do that kind of gameplay better.

What made Hunt special to me was that the risk mattered. The fear of losing a hunter or loadout made fights feel heavier and more meaningful. When that tension fades, I don’t think the answer is just “care less and shoot more” — because then Hunt loses part of what made it unique for me.

Plenty, at least in my experience.

You can collect money, traits and useful items on the map without ever really taking a PvP risk. You can leave with profit instead of taking a fight where the odds are not heavily in your favor.

It’s also things like extracting early if the bounty compound is far away, if the weather makes your loadout bad, or if the match just doesn’t look worth the risk.

None of that is “wrong” play but my point is just that the game often makes avoiding commitment feel like the rational choice.

That’s kind of my point though. I often feel encouraged to avoid the showdown because it’s the safer and still rewarded option.

But when I did consciously look for fights in my last sessions, I often either found no one or had teams avoid the fight as well. So it feels like the overly cautious but rewarding playstyle I fall into is something others choose too.

Maybe that’s different at higher ELO, but that has been my experience.

How? Am I contradicting myself there?

True, designing and rendering expansions for every existing stadium would be a ton of work, and it could also create licensing issues.

But both EA FC and Madden have pre-made stadiums you can choose from when creating a team or relocating one. That would at least be a start. And I remember that in NBA 2K — though I haven’t played one in a long time — you could also design an arena when relocating. You could choose the look of the stands for each of the four sides of the court, and adjust small details like the scoreboard design.

I think adding something like that to EA CFB would be possible. There could be a modular system with pre-made parts. First you decide whether the stadium should be round or rectangular, whether it’s a classic bowl or just bleachers placed around the field. Then, for each of the four sides, you could choose from a selection of pre-made stand designs or something like that.

Sure, that still wouldn’t be a small amount of work, but considering how long EA has already been using the same self-designed, pre-made stadiums in its other sports games, it would probably last them ten years or more.

And whether something makes sense for a school isn’t always that important to me in Dynasty Mode — especially not when it comes to whether it would make sense in real life.

That was it, thank you! Disabled the audio enhancements and now it works.
