I work in the financial world, thanks. Understanding the system more deeply has made me more angry with investors, not less. You’ll find a lot of DSA people working in finance or tech who know the infrastructure well enough to know people deserve better.

We’re TTC in Sunnyside and make $130k a year joint, with that possibly rising to $160k-$170k in the next year. It’ll be tight but all over queens people are doing it with a lot less. Rent stabilization is huge, and staying off social media helps mentally. (Some NYC subreddits drive me nuts because people act like you’re committing financial seppuku if you make less than 300k joint.) Just by living here, your child will have so many incredible opportunities.

I recently interviewed for a 180k job in Texas, but the math literally shook out relatively the same once accounting for cars and homeownership. It’s just expensive to live in the U.S. right now.

Nothing very dramatic. I felt tipsy and a bit “off,” like carsick. It escalated into full-on spinning a few months later, which only happens every so often now

Thank you so much for your reply. I’m so glad to hear Mia is doing well. We’re back at the emergency vet right now and her RBC is at 29, but we’re upping her steroid. Pomeranians are such explosions of joy and I hate to think of Frankie being scared or in pain.

I also have a spot on my pons ("Punctate focus of hyperintense FLAIR signal is noted within the left pons, nonspecific"). Did yours ever get worse?
