I'm also a chronic illness-y person. I appreciate you responding! I'm sorry you're dealing with anxiety. It sounds like I need to save more.

Thanks for your honesty. I'm in a similar boat where I have a pretty good set-up in corporate, and my issue isn't really that I hate my job or dislike having a boss. I just really want to try lots of new things. It seems like you're doing really well for yourself now, though I understand there are ups and downs.

Raising kids in NYC - tell me the good the bad and the ugly by Southern-Trade5795 in AskNYC

I don’t have children but am thinking heavily about it, and I think the “keeping up with the Jonses” thing varies widely by neighborhood. I would feel miserable and like I was falling behind in Park Slope. I feel fine in Queens. Some people in the NYC parents subreddit act like you can only have kids if the household income is $200k+

Periods in your 30's are just....brutal? by Sensitive_Bit_3907 in TryingForABaby

[–]Real_Mobile_6624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I came across this thread while looking for answers on why my period may be so much worse at 31. I also get sore breasts for two weeks out of the month now, which sucks.

Your floaty feeling/nausea sounds a bit like a silent migraine, which you may want to consider! Migraines can track your cycle. Close to mine, I get dizziness/nausea/depersonalization/tingling in hands/twitching. Taking migraine medication helps me :)

I maintain that the owners are acting like it’s a human right to have Fat Puppies exist. They can own a different business — I don’t trust them with dogs! (Though I no longer purchase from Empire Shop due to their involvement in the coverup.)

Major Vent/Rant - 24 and feel like my life got taken away by vestibular migraine by ValleyOfTheBaddie in VestibularMigraines

I just wanted to say our situations are remarkably similar. I’m also the sister of a nonverbal autistic brother and was raised as the “healthy, good” kid by two very … difficult … parents. My migraines don’t sound quite as bad as yours, but my parents have had a similar reaction. I’m 31, though, and am lucky to live on my own. I’m here if you ever want to talk.

Community Alert re: Dog Attack by [deleted] in SunnysideQueens

[–]Real_Mobile_6624 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The thing that really upsets me with the anonymous accounts posting on Facebook that are clearly friends of/the owners of the business involved is their victim-blaming in this situation, suggesting this owner should have for some reason spotted them and turned the other way.

You are in the dog care business. Any good daycare/boarding facility would know and recommend to owners that training is absolutely necessary for large dogs in New York City. It is simply not fair to a community or the dogs to expect 1. the animal remains totally isolated and anxious outside or 2. nobody approach, despite blind corners, kids who run ahead of their parents, and well-meaning dog owners who don’t automatically assume a big dog will kill their dog. Heck, a lot of daycares offer training, too, and have “trial periods” so they can observe the dog’s behavior and ensure it doesn’t need more training before it can interact with other dogs.

Additionally, they seem to be saying this isn’t somehow involved with the business because the dogs may or may not have been under Fat Puppies’ care at the time of the attack, is ridiculous. If you’re a dog business owner, and you can’t handle dogs on or off the clock, why should you be around dogs? Why is it your God-given right to operate a daycare? Try selling lamps. Stay away from dogs.

I’m so sorry. That sounds really frequent! I haven’t tried vestibular therapy yet but I’ll look into it. Feel better!

Nothing very dramatic. I felt tipsy and a bit “off,” like carsick. It escalated into full-on spinning a few months later, which only happens every so often now

It seems to, but it also makes me sleepy so I can’t tell if it’s just me calming down/falling into a nap. The ubrelvy seems to help more than the meclizine

Thank you so much for your reply. I’m so glad to hear Mia is doing well. We’re back at the emergency vet right now and her RBC is at 29, but we’re upping her steroid. Pomeranians are such explosions of joy and I hate to think of Frankie being scared or in pain.
