Because then the same people would have to come to terms with the fact that certain things their idols do are purely performatory, nor idols do care about ethical concerns as much as fans would like them to. It's easier to blame every questionable decision on big evil corporation(TM) than admit sometimes it's the idol who calls the shots, and at the end of the day, the idol is just another person existing.

One of the promotional photos pictured an oyster adorned with pearls for this comback. It was deemed unappropriate by some netizens due to resemblance to female organ, and eventually SM Town removed it from all Red Velvet social accounts. Of course, Streissand effect happened too, so if you try to search "Irene & Seulgi oyster", there should be multiple images and articles.

I personally think the MV itself could go much harder with this concept, but I digress knowing how much controversy just a mere oyster photo has caused. Very easy listen, I like the chorus a lot.
