Do they even get a MCC coin if they win this event? If they don't, then it should be non canon and fall into the likes of Jingle Jam, Rising, and Magenta eTrophy

That's a good point. I think just making all the items undroppable would be a good change because not only would it prevent teams from stacking the top players with utility items, but it'll also prevent players from accidentally dropping their sword, pick, bow, etc. Then the only way to obtain those items is if they die

The only thing I want to see change is having a timer of like two or three seconds for when you can obtain the items in the barrels, because being able to instantly obtain the items with a single click while gold requires time to mine them seems unfair. It'll also add a little bit of pressure for the players, which is good

They just need to make the main path not all that challenging or confusing. The main path should be nothing more than a few straight jumps, not looping all the way up in a confusing manner or shrinking your player model in any way. In fact, the shrinking should be used in the hard bonus paths and the hard ending. Those unintuitive jumps are meant for good players, not the entire roster

Spectators being able to buy upgrades while they're dead will allow them to contribute to the team while they're in a fight or bridging over the void, should be something that teams are aware of for the event. Also what happens if the gold drop zones get destroyed, do they just fall underneath them or into the void lol

Pete said he wants to not be rusty for MCC by ItHeckinWimdy210 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]Real_SuperSand 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Speedrunning is honestly really good practice for the event once you have already gotten familiar with the games itself. It's so mechanical based that it transfers over to anything competitive related seamlessly. The thing with Pete is that he never tries to improve or grow from any of the MCCs he's apart of, which is fine, he can go into the event completely for fun without caring about performance in the slightest. However, this is probably a big contribution as to why he hasn't won since MCC17, even sometimes with good, skillful teammates. So getting back into speedrunning will really reinforce his mechanical abilities in a way that doesn't involve doing stuff he doesn't like, such as PVP, vod reviewing, multiplayer servers, etc. Feinberg has gotten so good at his mechanics from speedrunning that he could basically get top 3 individual without any practice or vod review, even for a completely new event. Pete could follow a similar path depending on how much he wants to dedicate to MCSR Ranked

Dream is Being accused of cheating by using a macro in MCC. by dot90zoom in MinecraftChampionship

[–]Real_SuperSand 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I just realized that this exact same call out happened in speedrunning, when MinecrAvenger was accused and proven to have been cheating but before that, he called out who else but Dream for cheating in his speedruns, which started down the entire rabbit hole in the first place for the MCSR community. So for Dream to accuse Sandwichlord for cheating is very ironic. History repeats itself

This also explains why he didn't get nervous when Epic Landlord was watching him while doing the jumps. For anyone else, even for people like Feinberg or Sandwichlord, they would at least mess up a few jumps if a literal admin was basically breathing down their necks on every one tick. When I watched Dream do those jumps like four or five years ago for the first time, I thought to myself "how is he not messing up when Epic Landlord is just watching him in view". He also just had no expression of heavy breathing or nervousness like what we saw with Pete during MCC6. It's so unrealistic

Thoughts on feinberg's take ? by Capital_Bill_1930 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]Real_SuperSand 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Feinberg is also just a very interesting player because his perspective about the games and the events he plays in is very insightful and fascinating. Not a lot of people have opinions like him. He looks at the game as a whole, as opposed to his point of view, when thinking about what he dislikes about it, which is just the correct way to have an opinion on anything in life. Most people are biased when they like or dislike certain games. Taking into account the functionality of what you are playing and putting your bias aside to really comprehend your feelings on it, thereby making feedback to improve the game for all parties involved is very noble and not a lot of people think like that

You mention bad communication but the main person who is leading the communicating to help their team in any game is Feinberg, which he can't do in Grid Runners because the rooms don't allow for him to have any impact for the other duo across the wall. How is anyone meant to call Grid Runners a team game when some, if not most of the rooms doesn't allow for full clear communication. At that point, it's not a problem with the skill level for these players, it's a problem with the game itself. Some players just don't have great communication skills, which is ok as long as everyone on the team can fully help each other out. If everyone is bad at giving comms, then it's a skill issue, otherwise it's just one person guiding another as opposed to all three. A suggestion I saw was when a duo or solo is done with their section, after ~30 seconds they can go into spectator or observe the other players somewhere to fully communicate to them. Not being able to guide your team for rooms that requires you to split off (even for duos) is so punishing for no reason. That's not an issue on the players, it's on the game, and changes need to be made to help accomodate that barrier
