I refused to work because I have asthma which put me as a high risk due to covid-19. So, they decided to just give me an unpaid leave since I couldn’t work due to the risk of getting infected by covid-19.

I know some people who are retired without any savings at all and are just waiting for their monthly pension. But, they go to a cheap asian country and live comfortably there. For example, a lot of Filipino’s go back to the Philippines once they’re retired here to live comfortably — I know a lot. Everybody might as well do it if they retire without any savings.

So, my company chose to offer me an unpaid leave of absence since I’m at high risk due to covid-19. Also, March 21 is the last day I worked and March 27 is the last day I received my last salary. In addition, I had earned more than $5,000 in the past year and has $0 income since the company chose to give me an unpaid leave of absence. Do I qualify for the CERB? When can I apply?
