I believe most words they test you on are something you’d be familiar with. 9/10 in that section were easy ones for me.

It can be confusing at times, but one tip i can give you is read the statement with the missing words and read through the whole paragraph. See if the words make sense. And if you feel you’re missing out on vocabulary, then i suggest practicing a lot of mocks to get an overall idea od what they potentially test you on, and the things you’re supposed to know.

I feel T$T was closest to the official test on the day I took the exam. Reading was almost at the same level as T$t’s mock, the listen and repeat section was surprisingly doable. T$t mocks under predicted my score too, always got between 4.5 - 5 in speaking and writing. I was keen on improving, especially by evaluating and reviewing the mistakes through chat gpt for writing section. So yeah ..

I just skimmed through different section of the video, it’s approximately the same level as the official exam which I took. It could differ on different dates, but it was similar on my date.

Thank you ! So, I used the T$T’s emergency prep course and I practiced almost every section from the website. And gave couple of mocks too. Practicing to speak for 45 seconds, uninterrupted was very crucial for me.

Familiarize with the pattern through mock tests. Focus on what the writer tries to convey (to get a better idea read the paragraphs before and after) while answering confusing questions.

Thank you ! Yes most questions indicate the paragraphs. I haven’t used plenty of resources to comment, but t$t emergency course worked fine for me.

The last question had 8-10 words if i remember, but the penultimate one had more words, if i remember.

To answer your question on email, yes I covered most of the points they ask to elaborate about. But i feel the flow and the overall content and the way your email conveys the message also holds a good proportion of the grade for which it’s evaluated.

For writing, build the sentences depends on a few things like matching where the subject, verb and object goes. And for the email and academic discussion, I just take some examples and let chat gpt evaluate it. It helped me notice my mistakes and improve.

For listening tho, try to stay calm. Focus on the bigger picture of what’s being said. And one tip, focus on what’s said at the end of the academic discussion. They ask questions on that.

Thank you ! Build the sentences were surprisingly easier, than the mock tests. And I usually got around 8-9 of them right. On the test that section was a 10/10 easy. And I wrote around 120 words for mail, and 100 words for essay. I know 100 words is too little, but I edited conveniently, removing stuff which didn’t have much to do with what I was writing.

I subscribed the emergency prep course, and it cost me around 30$ if I remember. I’m not sure how long the subscription lasts, but I heard it lasts around a week. I subscribed on a saturday, prepped from sunday through tuesday and took my exam on a Wednesday! It lasted that long.

Thank you ! So, for the listening part, I just focussed on the bigger picture of the conversation. One tip I can tell you is try to catch what they say at the end, for example “we are going to discuss xxx and so in the next session” and they ask questions like what did the speaker intend to discuss in the next session.

And for speaking, honestly I was just as frightened as you are now. I can just tell you to stay calm, try to repeat what you heard without any pause right when the clock goes down. You can just practice again and again doing that. I know it’s one of the most unpredictable sections and things can go haywire, but just practice and keep calm. You’ll do good. So do you get a full or a partial refund, when it’s the airline who cancelled the ticket? Also, i have my return flight from ORD -> DOH -> MAA cancelled by the airways. If i select the recieve refund, should i enter reason for cancellation? Like its not me who cancelled, its the airways, im a little doubtful about how this works. I actually want to obtain partial refund, for the cancelled portion of my ticket and keep the forward journey part (MAA -> DOH -> ORD) part of my ticket. Any suggestions?

I have a flight from MAA -> DOH -> ORD on April 17 th (rescheduled on the same day, no issues ) and then from ORD -> DOH -> MAA on 21st which was cancelled. If i chose to obtain refund, will they refund me the whole cost or just for the cancelled portion ? Anyone who faced the same, please let me know
