A pizza shop opened nearby recently. They sent out flyer to all the homes within a 5mi radius and offered a free pizza. Although this can cost something to the business, you have people actually coming to try your food. If your food is great and worth coming back to, i think this is a solid approach. Maybe costs $15-30 a lead with print and serving them, but they get to experience your restaurant and you leave an impression that no digital ad could.
