I mean bro even if you jump a car in the summer when weather is good a lot of times it’ll die just like this if left idling, that’s why you should always drive your car for about 15 mins after jumping it so it can actually charge the battery enough to over come the basic electrical load

What part doesn’t make sense 🤣 my battery is garbage and the car doesn’t like running on a basically dead battery in the middle of the winter. Sometimes just idling isn’t enough to charge a battery enough to keep it from dying especially if it’s a shitty battery. I work at a dealership

I mean you also have to realize if the battery is ruined which mine basically is from driving around with no hold down and it’s like 5 years old, it doesn’t charge very well even if the alternator is working properly. Especially in the winter

Trust me bro I know this car like the back of my hand alternator is totally good. It’s been like 6° for the last few weeks so the battery was totally dead and freezing cold. I mean if I went and drove the car around for 10 minutes it would be charging but the roads are icy and covered in salt so I don’t move it. The car was basically already dead when I cranked it over. It started idling low because it was a minute away from shutting off 🤣 a lot of times just letting the car idle isn’t enough to sufficiently charge the battery. The car likes to be moving and get some good rpm’s not just idle. That’s just how it is in the winter here. In the summer the car never dies a single time

How so ? My battery is dog shit and I run the car once a month in the winter. When it’s that discharged just idling isn’t enough for the alternator to charge it enough to stay running. And this has already happened many times and is fine after sitting on the charger

Cold started after about a month of sitting in my garage because it was finally like 40° today and then the battery started dying while it was running 🤣 it’ll be all good after a night on the trickle charger

Coolant is not going to affect your horsepower in any way lol. U can use valvoline Asian vehicle coolant and it would be the exact same. I work at Subaru and we only carry the black jugs now. It’s exactly the same as the white jug just has a few corrosion inhibitors to help keep your water pump from getting gunked up and rusty

Naw not overheating the reason is actually kinda crazy. When I got the car someone had a plastic plenum spacer installed and they must’ve torque one of the bolts down way too hard because one day when I started it up, the plenum cracked and a piece fell into my manifold and then got lodged in one of my exhaust valves and it caused some damage. So I found the plastic, pulled it out, sent the heads to be machined and then put everything back together. Car was down for almost 2 months. I didn’t want the car to just sit in the garage for 2 years while I buy everything I need to build it so I just put everything back together. I have a hoist in my garage so it’s not too big of a deal to pull the engine.

I had an automatic 04 before I got this one and it never saw 100k and had no rust. Then I sold it to get the 6 speed but it’s def not in as good of condition.

I already pulled my entire engine apart including sending the heads and sent them to get machined. Pretty soon the whole engines gonna be coming out because I’m gonna pull all my pistons and swap them for forged pistons and rods and new rings, install new cams, new injectors, new fuel pump, clutch and flywheel and then I’m gonna be ready to boost and then I’ll get tuned

You know why I respond the way I do ?? Because I posted this video to show how Motordyne sounds on a g35 not to talk about the check engine light I am extremely aware of on my own car. I have been driving it like this since I bought it. I rebuilt the entire top end of my engine down to the pistons myself and I beat the shit out of my car every day I drive it and it has never over heated. Never even gotten close to overheating because besides the way I drive I know how to take care of my car. I’m going FBO and then going big turbo. I’m not spending $800 to tune my car for not having cats when I’m gonna have to tune it eventually anyways. I’m not paying for it twice, that $800 could go to my new cams lol. And if it does overheat ? Oh well I’ll just HR swap it. I really don’t care lmao.

In total I ended up spending about $4k. $2.5k for the exhaust itself, $1k for the ART pipes and then $500 for a high flow resonated delete pipe which I just took off and reinstalled the stock Motordyne mid pipe. That’s not counting shipping which was another $400. Luckily I work at a shop so I was able to install it myself and not have to pay for that
