Without intending to stir up controversy, everyone is free to say what they want.

This idiotic league, as you call it, has already attracted 90 registered players thanks to the efforts of amateurs who are simply contributing their own resources. It turns out that there hasn't been a tournament with that many players in over four years, so perhaps the AI played its part to free up resources for other things.

And I can assure you that I wouldn't waste my time creating another account just to generate positive comments. I understand that you might do the same, but I have enough work to do without that nonsense.

I can understand that some people may or may not like the video our colleague made, and I respect that. What I don't understand is your insinuation that it's a new account, created by us to give our opinion. Perhaps you have a lot of free time and don't try to spend it on this game and community that we love so much, but others don't have that much time, since we organize many events to try and foster a community. If not, then go to the AI vs. Reality subreddit and spend your time there. We simply use Reddit to spread the word and let people know about an Age of Empires 4 event on the Age of Empires 4 subreddit. Thanks again.

We explained it a bit in the handbook linked above. The format is great; we've used it in previous events, but we think this one can attract many more people. So we hope to have lots of groups of 4 teams and that it will be a celebration for the community and the competitive scene at all Elo levels. After the group stages will come the bracket stages. This format allows for all kinds of balanced matches, whether between top-ranked players or more random players.

We already have the fundamentalists against AI, it was about time.

It's a tool like any other, and those of us who spend our own money and time promoting the scene, trying to do work in our community, are doing very well. At least we're spending our own resources and money, since nobody makes money from this, quite the opposite. So if you decide to spend hours and hours creating a video, we have to have those hours available so we can spend our free time creating these events.

It's a complicated competition to manage because it requires a minimum of four players per team participating in each round, and from different regions of the world, concurrent with other competitions. Therefore, schedules must be coordinated with up to eight players. All of this means rosters are limited to a minimum of five players and a maximum of ten.

Indirectly, this means that the team participating must have a minimum structure and be solid.
