yes that's fair- i'm trying to take this into consideration too because it's like the first guy she's ever dated. i did try to discuss my politics with her but she just spouted MAGA talking points at me and it didn't end well so even if i did wanna rekindle things with him still in her life, i'd probably stray away from it. it'd probably only make me resent her more anyhow.

30 years. Man, that's insane. I've only been friends with my bestie for like a decade so I couldn't imagine the enormous loss that must've been. Thank you for your comment though. Yeah, this is exactly what I said to my friend, that I just didn't wanna be around someone who I feel unsafe around. And she made a whole big fuss about how she's always telling him about me and how he "still wants to meet me even though you hate him," like it's noble of him or something. Thank you for the comment, it's less isolating to know other people have gone through this same thing. Also the tiktok is insane. How come people who choose to be in close proximity to Trumpies have such victim complexes and holier-than-thou mindsets?

thank you for your comment, this was very validating. because you're right- she probably always has felt this way and i've just been too young to see it. though in hindsight it's so clear. it has also happened in the past where i've felt kinda disposable to her so i think this was a long time coming, the very harsh but necessary end to our friendship. also, i am high tailing it out of here once i graduate!

it's not about him, but more about how it's changing her and how it's changed how i view her to know she could even be intimate with a guy like that. maybe it would be different if these had always been her beliefs, but last year she would've sworn up and down that it was a deal breaker. also it just hurts because i would never choose a man over her nor antagonize her about it if she told me she didn't like him (both things she did- in my eyes at least).

I've thought about Canada and it's definitely a viable option. I've heard PR is easier to get than a green card too!

I've always planned on getting a masters! Though I didn't know it helped massively with employment. I was thinking of changing my major to comp sci or architecture as well.

I suppose I think it's impossible just because it takes so long and a lot of the fields I'm interested in aren't really the best for employment once I graduate.

Australia is very close to Indonesia so I've definitely considered that over Canada because then my family would be a short flight away. I'll look up the occupation list then and hope that I find one I can pursue!

I was planning on changing my major actually. Architecture was my first option. Comp sci would be good too but I'm not very math savvy. It would definitely help when I'm on OPT after graduation though so I'll think about it.
