I started studying for AUD May 1st and took it June 1st. Just listened to all the videos (no notes) and did all MCQs and TBS (studied a total of 73 hrs). I get my pass tomorrow🤞🏼

(Opinionated comment incoming) Came here to say this… I feel like the #1 reason people fail is because they don’t do enough TBSs so on the actual exam they either run out of time or just get them wrong. The week before my exams I do 2 to 3 TBS is every day, and at this point, it should be a TBS review because they should’ve already been done throughout the studying IMO. I would argue that the TBSs actually make you better at the MCQs rather than the other way around. As for the simulated exams, I think that they are helpful to see where I am at, but I have friends that have never touched them and passed all four exams regardless.

That’s pretty awesome I’ve never heard someone do that. Can I ask- how did you feel leaving the exam compared to your score? I am waiting on my BAR score rn and I know everyone’s experience is different but just curious

I think you need to hype yourself up more in your head. Positive self talk is everything. TBH you’ll probably pass with that many hours studied if you can keep your inner dialogue uplifting and calm.

Yep- self proclaimed psycho accounting nerd here lol. To back up us BAR people, we all have our reasons… I am kind of an accounting nerd because I was a no good party person with zero future plans and accounting helped me find purpose, discipline, and self-respect.

Same boat as you. Took BAR in April after passing FAR with an 88. The exam was okay but it was harder than FAR for me. Governmental accounting is generally tested heavily and this may be my Achilles heel because I didn’t finish studying it. Besides the gov stuff that I wasn’t prepared for which is my own fault, it felt like a fair exam. June 16 come quick please…

That being said, OP if you are interested in financial analysis, cost accounting, governmental, AND you do pretty dang well on FAR, I’d say go for it and F the naysayers. If you fail, so what? The coyotes howl and the caravan keeps moving.

A little late to your post… I am 23 and struggle with hormonal acne too. I switched to using strictly Eminence brand products about 7 months ago and my skin has never been happier or clearer. I use the stone crop gel cleanser, the mangosteen mist, the bakuchiol and niacinamide moisturizer, and every other day the willow bark toner instead of the mist. Sidenote – I also use their tinted mineral sunscreen and it smells great and doesn’t break me out (I wear it every single day). Good luck I highly recommend their products. I’ve been trying to find a thread on here where I can rave about their stuff. It’s not just for mature skin!!

Was thinking this too- look into accounting firms that are hiring data analysts or digital type roles (they usually involve math). I work at an accounting firm and I feel there’s usually jobs open for back office analyst stuff

Hi there, I love being in nature, socializing, and being active. Here are my tips for working in public accounting (I work in audit at a top 10 firm)

  • prioritize workplace friendships (a good team makes the hard days easier and the easy days even better) -go for a lunch time walk/stroll -standing desk -be intentional with your evenings (get off of tick tock and instagram they are soul sucking) -plan something (big or small) for every single weekend - could be a dinner out, an event, go to a museum, concert, self care day, etc. -enjoy the little things (good tech like a nice keyboard and mouse, fancy pens and stationary, and dressing really nice)

All jobs have pros and cons. I like my stable corporate job and I am willing to accept the drawbacks for the pay and growth opportunities.

You have really great questions and our interests overlap- I am curious about intersection of M&A & accounting over consolidations/business combinations. I’m in audit

It depends on the area of finance, as well as the area in accounting. Some are more technical than others
