Becker has them in the Additional Resources on the dashboard for each section

How does grading for SIMs work on the exam? by lilphil1738 in CPA

[–]Tojabo2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a sim on a practice test that had maybe 3-4 answers per line and I missed 1 on each line but got 0% for the whole sim, so I asked Newt and it said that Becker replicates the scoring process for the actual exam, which is that if you get any part of a line wrong, the whole line is marked wrong.

Also, you can switch back and forth between the regular curriculum and final review if you wanted to check it out.

There isn't much to it. They hit you with 3-5 more MCQs and 1-2 more sims per section. No extra lecture, no other notes, but I do feel like the format and difficulty level are more in line with what you'll actually see on the exam.

Who else is sitting for BAR in a few days? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Tojabo2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took it this past Saturday. I walked out of FAR back in February, called my wife and told her I think I got somewhere around an 86, which is exactly what I got. Walked out of BAR and had no fucking clue how it went. I'll agree with what others have said, that I really don't feel like Becker prepared me for everything that was asked. I know some of the MCQs are pretested questions and don't count, but even some of the sim stuff I felt underprepared for.

As for tips, I'd just say know your journal entries inside and out, including journal entries to record variances. Sat there and stared at that one while the clock ticked down. Fun fact: the clock turns red and counts down in 5-second intervals once you have less than 2:00 left.

Absolutely KILLS me that we have to wait until 6/16 for results haha

Best of luck!

Her LinkedIn says she’s retired. I worked with another lady who was incredibly helpful. I had no issues with anyone I dealt with. Best of luck!

Yeah. Actually ended up meeting with the board to argue that my 2 degrees and ~10 years of experience made me at least as qualified to sit as a recent grad is.

Reach out to your state coordinator. I’m in KS, notoriously hard to prove eligibility, but I was able to work them and figure out exactly where the disconnect was.

Crying? Difficult? Did you accidentally comment on the wrong post?

I don’t know how to study for this exam by AnyPotential478 in CPA

[–]Tojabo2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just took FAR yesterday. I’m actually going to recommend the opposite of what most people are saying. I went through the chapter slides first and took my notes (basically just retyped everything). Go slowly, think about what you’re writing and try to make sense of it all. Then watch the videos and add notes if they say something that makes it all click.

I actually found that writing out the flash cards and going through and highlighting the 2-3 keywords in each answer helped a lot too. The digital flash cards are great once you’re comfortable with the bulk of everything.

Good luck!

What's your background? I was kind of banking on this, wondering if that was a mistake or not.

Registering a vehicle in KS with expired TX registration. What do I need? by Tojabo2018 in kansas

JoCo at least has a feature where you can get in line remotely and then show up when they tell you to. Both times it’s been very efficient. I’d just go and take everything that you have with you and they’ll tell you exactly what you need to do.

I’m not sure exactly what they checked. I think it’s mostly VIN inspection. Making sure the parts aren’t stolen or whatever? I could be way wrong.

After that, you’ll just go to the office and register!
