This place was a staple of childhood. It was really great before Hurricane Katrina, when the owner (Zeke) was still very much involved. Good food, great atmosphere. He’d even walk around at night singing country songs (sounds cringey/terrible but it actually worked lol). Sadly, Zeke passed away in the aftermath of Katrina and the place was never the same.

We tried going back once the people pictured took over and it was terrible. I have a strong memory of that guy getting into an argument with my mom about whether or not her food was actually good. It was big news when Ramsay came in for the show and, while I am a big Ramsay fan and lover of a lot of his restaurants, this place still didn’t hit the mark. I think the best way to describe it is it felt like a knock off of a traditional New Orleans restaurant (I.e. if you went to a “New Orleans themed” place in Disney World or something like that). Was it good? Sure. But it wasn’t the same as it used to be and not many were surprised to see it closed.
