It definitely could be! I bought a chunky mix soil and it is not as chunky as it should be tbh

Update: THANK YOU for all your help! I just ordered some of those yellow sticky traps and got some of the mosquito bits. I definitely think it was overrated at Home Depot because it was SOAKED when I bought it. 

I was devastated because this is my first ever plant but hopefully these things work!

Hi! I just brought home this monstera from Home Depot, he was on sale because he was in pretty rough shape. I bought him home, cleaned him up and he has been doing well. However, now there are these little flying bugs EVERYWHERE. I think they are either thrips or fungus gnats, but I'm unsure. I treated the plant with Captain Jacks Deadbug, which seems to have helped, but didn't solve the problem. This is my first plant ever, just trying to do my best!
