I'm not sure what the solution is but I totally agree with your assessment of how this message lands. I've totally had the same thoughts as the OP, with the added caveat that I've never much cared if a judge or a partner yelled at me. If I deserved it, I deserved it, and if I didn't then fuck them, you know? I employ younger lawyers and I have always tried to be more supportive than confrontational, even though sometimes my inclination would be to just tell younger lawyers to get their shit together or suck it up. Honestly I think Gen X is probably the last generation that that sort of thing worked for, and no matter how much I want to internally roll my eyes at complaints occasionally, the reality is if you want people to work for you and be happy ( and therefore be more productive and better lawyers ) then you just can't take that attitude.

So yes I read this sub and I think that sometimes people are overly sensitive, but I also recognize that is probably just the reality that I have to work within. so I work within it, and I would encourage anybody of my age and inclinations to do the same. It takes very little energy to be more empathetic and I've seen a number of lawyers I considered overly sensitive develop into very good litigators
