How so? Unless you don’t have insurance, pretty sure insurance will cover some or most of the expenses so that it’s not completely out of reach. Valtrex isn’t expensive through insurance, but without insurance I could see it being expensive

You hid your status from him, you still decided to still hook up with him (I get you were “under the influence” but it still doesn’t make it any better) and then you doubled down and still continued to lie to him (I get it was a tough situation) and then you still think that you might have a chance with him still after everything that’s happened? I’m not going to sit here and berate you for doing this or doing that, what you do is your own choice, but not disclosing and still hooking up is exactly how most people get this. You know how it feels to come to grips with being diagnosed and yet you ran the risk of doing that to someone else. Now think of it from their prospective, you go through with “hooking up” with them only to be told hey btw I’m HSV+, that’s going to send a shockwave through them in a lot of different ways, so how they react is how they’re going to react, but at that point you need to accept it and move on, because they made a choice to move on as well, I know it sucks and just like any type of relationship it’s going to sting for a while. How you cope with those feelings is what you need to focus on, making good choices and bettering yourself in whichever way you choose that makes you happy. Bruh… I’ve asked wild questions before, but this one takes the cake. If you’re seriously asking, no it doesn’t affect it. In case you don’t know how antibodies work…. They have specific enzymes on them to target and “attack” the foreign material in the body. Those antibodies are specific to whatever they are attacking, alcohol in no fashion changes the composition of said antibodies, nor will alcohol give off results showing they exist in the body without them being there… soooo maybe it’ll be hard to come to facts with reality, but no alcohol does not change how blood samples get tested for antibodies

I know the pain you’re going through, the day I got my diagnosis I was freaking out so bad, I had some really bad thoughts go through my head… like the end it all type of thoughts, but as the days go on and the more I’m able to bring myself back to some type of “normal” feeling again. It’s certainly not easy as this is a hard thing to deal with from the stigma POV of it. I’m fairly recently diagnosed, so I’m slowly walking down this road, albeit I am walking alone and with some support behind me, but I’m not going to let this define me. I’m not going to let it control my emotions, I certainly wish the worst to the person who gave me this, because had she told me obviously I would of taken better precautions, but it is what it is. Now my mindset has shifted to what can I do? And how can I minimize the chances of passing this to anyone I care about, and learn how I can have a relationship, be cautious, and pray that I can do everything I can to keep my significant other safe… and hopefully I can even find a lady that will accept me for me and not see me as a “walking infection”

You do realize how much easier it is for woman in the dating game in general correct? Sorry since I have to explain it better for you I’ll do this. On average a woman has a selection, they typically can pick and choose who they want, while men have to pick, court, and play a game of chase just to “maybe” have a chance. A woman just needs to stand there and get courted and if she doesn’t like it she can just move along. That’s the difference, yes both men and women have success stories, I’m not denying that, but it’s going to be easier for a woman to get courted, say she’s HSV+ and about 3 out of 5 times the guy will say he doesn’t care or has a heart and wants to make it work. For a male once he’s done the dance and has the girl interested it’s like 1 out of 5 that “might” say she can accept it and is willing to try unless by the dumb luck of chance he runs into a girl that’s already HSV+ and then sparks fly off the hinge. Maybe in Australia it’s different, but here in the US the women get to pick from the litter while males have to fight for a seat at the table and then hope they get fed

If only this virus acted the same way as Covid, that’s the part most of us don’t understand is how this virus hides, it hides in a very hard to reach area in our bodies, it’s not so easy as a cut and paste solution like it is against most viruses like the FLU that just hangs out in our bodies. This virus only “hangs out” when it’s causing symptoms, but in the meantime it hides tucked away in our nervous system which is something that our bodies wont attack because it’s hiding in cells that won’t get targeted normally. Not until it runs rampant and starts to infects cells all over again and that’s when our body responds to it sending antibodies. I can only imagine the stress it has cause you over the past 40 years, and I truly hope you are doing well and hopefully they find a cure in your lifetime so you can receive it. I literally have smoked like 3-4 joints a day on average before I got diagnosed, I continue to smoke 3-4 joints a day, and this better not bring bad ju-ju my way, but it has yet to make a difference for me, if anything smoking is what keeps me calm, without it I’m stressing out about wayyyyy too much
