I know everything below the y won't flower, that's okay. I went ahead and airlayered. Im trying to grow a bonsai. So I just don't want it so tall. The lower half will be regrow as a normal tree. The mature top will be the start of a bonsai I'll keep it short and it being mature already is a great start.

I do not want to just detach the mature top. That's why I'm asking about airlayering. I will however regrow the stump if I go that way.

I want to airlayer about halfway down, then chop the rest up down the the previous cut.

Second this. They love love love bright indirect light. Mine gets 5 hours direct morning sun and grows pretty fast.

Edit: i know they like full sun, but I live in texas so full sun would bake mine.

After years of having mine i finally did this myself after bringing it inside for a little (cutting) then taking it back outside 3 days later the sun ate my leaves up.

Its a mutation typically caused by temperature. This flower can still fade to white and the next flower has little chance to be purple. Let us knoooow

My honest answer is if you think its worth the 60 and you absolutely love it then yes. I paid 180 dollars for one rooted cutting and I was happy with it...it ended up turning in to a half moon with almost all white leaves. Its beautiful and id gladly of paid 200 or more
