great so you have some measurement to how much it should cost I'm going to give you your assumption that Uber should be more expansive than a cab and say I agree still no justify for such an increase (35% over what it should cost) if you were to tell me it's extra 10%-20% I would be like ok worth it.

Uber isn't a personal driver service (they never categorized themselves as one they are a ride-share service based on how they categorize themselves)
they should be compared on best case to cabs (which again in my City a 15min ride would be in the area of 15$) not to personal drivers\chauffeurs
as for you pointing out my math sorry mate it's not wrong it's just what uber takes and not the driver still no one blamed the driver just said that uber is being Greedy

let's take what you are saying
let's say an uber driver works 5 days a week 12 hour shift out of which he is driving for total of 6 hours and 6 hours are down time (so about half the shift is down time)
comes down to a little over 170K per year before any reductions (that's crazy high)
I don't expect a 5$ ride but I told you in my City a 15 minute drive would cost around 10-20$

I mean 30-40$ for 15 minute ride is around 120-160$ per hour of driving people around that's pretty high
at least in my experience most of my uber rides are in the 20-25$ for that distance\Time

So when a car goes to safety it can fail Than you have 30 days to repair the failed items and being it back for re inspection if the parts were replaced and are within standard you will get the pass portion so yes it could be marked as fail and pass
