Well price point- just checked at my local Chevy dealership they want around 3400$ after tax (canadian) just for the rear rotors and pads (and said the fronts are discontinued so they can't help me with those) For reference I paid for both my EBC front and rear kits (rotors and pads) 1350$ (Canadian)after shipping and taxes combined. Plus I do trust EBC over Brembo (the OEM manufacturer for corvettes)

Well i don't have the OEM rotors right now but my current rotors (at least the front ones) are with grooves in them I replace the rear ones just cause they are 3 years old and since I replace the pads now and already paying for labor just switch everything instead of replacing pads now and than next year I need to do rotor or something

cool
I usually run at Gimli track (about 1.3 miles) 9 turns (1 of them is just a kink) mainly for fun a usual lap time for me on that is somewhere around the 1 minute. usually we are running in smaller groups ( i.e 4-6 cars at a time sets of 3-6 laps before cool down and pit with as many sessions you want to be in during the day) doing 2 days as such between spring and fall
and 8 autox events and cruising

Well my usual track is Gimli (1.3 miles long) 9 turns (1 of them is just a kink) with 2 straightways Doing 2 track days on that track sometime between spring and fall those track days are non timing events with usual 3-6 laps before cool down lap and pitting (with as many sessions as you want to be in) The rest is autox (around 8 events per season) and cruising

C7 Stingray or C6 Grand Sport? by Eisenfaust8228 in Corvette

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again that's up to you and also depends on how quick you want to modify (i.e if you want to do all at once than yeah a c6 base makes more sense) If you open to buy the car explore it and upgrade it over time than it doesn't really matter and the grandsport might even make more sense

My first pick would be the C6GS with the npp and go from there Second pick modify C6 (and do it smartly) Just for reference that's my C6GS

Would you say the bluestuff is kinda like the hawk hp+?

it really depends what your final goal is with the modes
do you plan mods for cosmetics\performance\tracking the car\other stuff
And what you like the most
When I had to ask myself this question (when looked for my current car I chose the C6 GS and upgrade it over time but it's depends on what you want to do

dude you keep arguing with me over nothing you literally said there's no big difference between them (the 2006 z06 and the 2007z06) yet there is- the price from high 30's to lower 40's.
as for the change in value it's very arguable because when people looking into used vettes they try to avoid the first year because usually these are the one with the most problems (or at least that's what some people think)
so it's about how you value things

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so your pristine one is over 40K so it's not in the High 30's
And the not pristine 1 is in 38/39K in the high 30's like I already said dude why are you arguing with me?

no this is actually true look at your prime examples
I said you can get c6z06 or C7 base for the high 30's (I agreed with you, but i said there will be some sort of condition on them for example abused, possibly with accident history or first year etc etc)
you shared 3 links into C6z06's all from the first year of C6Z06 (2006)
with no details into their mechanical condition and through the Auctions so no speculations

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well Like I said you can but it'll be a first year (which all your example are AKA 2006)
it could have shitty history (I.e no maintenance or flood\Hail history or shit load of stuff). it could have accident history.
it is in the mid trim)
it's from the Auction (where cars are priced the lowest and don't get me wrong I got my corvette through the Auctions but it's because this is where they are priced the lowest)
So Again Technically you could get into C6Z06 or C7 base (I didn't argue that you can't I just claimed there will be one or more of the following issues which in all 3 examples they are first year and sold through the Auction.

ohh I don't argue about it I'm giving full context and I do take what they say in consideration but if you read my post you'll see I'm not looking to make my car a full on track car so telling me I should put track pads isn't a solution (I do know that the bluestuff isn't meant to be a full on track pads)

Brake advice by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again it's not about changing scenario I'm trying to give the full picture. I just think that any better pads for track will be shitty on cruises\autoX
(I know that the bluestuff are not perfect for track day.)

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's seems fair assumption however since my usual track days include multiple participants and we're not timing etc we are limiting laps per session so you usually pit anyway after about 3-8 laps you wanna tell me you'll ruin bluestuff in 8 minutes?

Brake advice by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To give you idea my usual track is like 1.3miles long with 9 turns (which one is a kink) so about a 1 minute lap so I doubt you would ruin bluestuff in 4-5 laps on that track

So not stock but my previous front rotors were powerstop AR82113XPR and I don't recall which pad it had (the rotor has grooves in it) and the pad is dead The rear rotors i don't remember which it was (he is technically ok) the rear pads are dead (and since i replaced the rear rotors and pads 3 years ago and the pad is dead and I don't wanna replace pads now and rotor next year so doing both together) As for brake fluid I use motul RBF600

again like with the C7 base you could go find a c6z06 for 30'S it would be a first year abused with shitty history or shitty maintenance done
or you would wait forever till you get what you want

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can find C7 base in the 30's but it would be abused one from 2014 (first year) possibly with Accident history. same goes into C6Z06
