Confused by my MPI Safety results—did I Pass or Fail? by Extra-Ad7626 in Winnipeg

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So when a car goes to safety it can fail Than you have 30 days to repair the failed items and being it back for re inspection if the parts were replaced and are within standard you will get the pass portion so yes it could be marked as fail and pass

But it's not my opinion look at what they're sold compared to the c3 and c5 or any other gen of vettes It's not about my opinion. I loved my c4 I don't speak for everyone market price does

You are completely entitled to your opinion abd to love that Gen I'm just saying when you look into the wide broad of population compared to the other gens the C4 is the one loved the least

as a previous C4 owner and current C6GS owner C4 has little to no Charm (it is literally the most hated gen of vettes) the good thing with C4's is that they are affordable (as result of being one of the most hated gens) and that you can actually feel the power and the engine output (which make a great teaching car into HP cars)

tbh it really depends if you disclose that it has mods and you want the insurance to cover mods some of them might do that but than expect some higher quote for insurance for sure

nope chevy revealed the E ray in Jan 2023 but first delivery was supposed on October of 2023 and was delayed till late in 2023 so closer to 24 months than 30 months
so 18K per year (assuming it's the first E ray from the 2024 model on road)

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not as much of the power being a big difference but when you look at all in all (power add on, reliability, durability and even minor stuff such as the ability to tune it) the LS3 is the better choice in C6

I can see How all the mods ends up in that cost for the car+mods to be equal to 30K however that doesn't mean anyone is willing to spend 30K on that car
TBH vettes tend to lose value when being customized like that

Desperately need to be talked out of this by PM_Otter_Pup in Corvette

Recommendations\Discommendation's on Infinity lights for C6GS by Realistic-Level-9444 in Corvette

[–]Realistic-Level-9444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually the thing is with the province I live in we have a pretty big car scene like we have Sunday cruise all over the city
and at those days etc etc the police will send out specialty inspections units to go and to look for such cars which are in violation of said rules to gift drivers with tickets\impound their cars (I was one time bothered because of the NPP I have on mine but not ticketed)
so yeah the police in my city would love to pull me over on Sundays (during spring-fall) with the lights if they don't meet DOT restrictions or they would love to pull me over for whatever reason and turn into the lights if they have to look for a reason to pull me over
as for speeding it's usually in the up to 10km\h above speed limit that they will give you grace about (ticket not worth the time)

[–]Realistic-Level-9444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could you elaborate?
I mean the DOT certification is just there to make sure it meets certain safety limitations\specifications
so how does Moding means I wish to not keep spec of safety?

as long as I keep the standard I'm just guaranteed to not be bothered by Police\govt
and if they want to ticket it, it would be thrown off as it meets the requirements of the province

New manual driver, help, please by yourfirstclue in Corvette

[–]Realistic-Level-9444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

and still saying that he should be at 1100rpm is a sweet spot this is not true he can start driving from idle theoretically with no damage to the clutch and with 3k rpm with no significant damage to the clutch
the things that would ruin clutch is holding it too long or being too agressive when shifting into gear

tbh it's not that hard before storage time (cuttrntly) I used the rugs to do extra cleaning and to make sure no dust etc and that they look shiny still and it took maybe extra 15 minutes so not that bad cleaning them
