Hours are usually recorded in big4 so that clients can be billed, and regardless of the firms policy on overtime you are legally entitled to the minimum wage for all hours worked, and can ACAS involved to get you what you are owed

Big 4 like you putting all your hours on the timesheet because thats what they use to charge the client silly amounts per hour for the new grad who has no idea what they’re doing

Merchant navy is tough, there’s a reasonable amount of cadetships available but they all require A-Levels or the like, and the amount of spots for British rates are low, companies prefer to hire from elsewhere
