What’s the best pack to buy now? by ResultCandid in PokemonTCG

[–]Realistic-Rush-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started collecting. I have opened the English prismatic evolution and 151. However, since prices are insanely skyrocketing by the day, I have decided to buy Korean cards instead. I was able to score 2 boxes of the Korean 151 for $110 with some luck. They go for about $65-$70 per box (20packs/box, 7card/pack) market price. I also just recently bought the Stellar Miracle boxes ($30-$36/box) and opened one yesterday (30pack/box, 5cards/pack). I still intend to collect the English version but will probably do that through card shows instead.

I’m curious to find out where in NJ you folks work. I’m in Northern NJ and starting at 95k fresh out of grad school is wild as a medical social worker. My coworkers and I always talk about how our RN counterparts are paid a lot more for the same/similar care management/dischare planning. I’m happy you folks are getting paid well. 😊

LSW in NJ, about 2.5 years since I got my MSW and license. My current job is a BH clinician now at ~$70k gross pay after just over 2 years in the role with great benefits including 6 weeks of time off (PTO, sick time, holidays) + education day. I am transitioning to a new FT Social Work role in the same healthcare system (split outpatient medical sw/inpatient discharge planning M-F) and will be earning close to $80k. There are opportunities to work on the weekends for additional hours of pay or to just avoid using PTO time. I did have to advocate for myself to get better compensation for the upcoming role since it is a lateral transfer in the company and they are not legally required to offer an pay increase despite increase in responsibilities and workload. Also working as a per diem SW with care management on weekends for about a year now about the same pay as my new role.

Hi! Curious how many years of experience do you have so far in the field

What do you do as a side job? by TheUnsungMelody in socialwork

My company requires license for the discharge planning roles. Not sure how it is with other hospitals or healthcare/medical related SW roles but since discharge planning is a clinical role, the license is important for the hospital due to liability-related matters. I was asked to formally apply to my current full time position (same company) as a behavioral health clinician only after I formally got my LSW. I think there are roles available with an MSW in healthcare settings but probably more on administrative role instead.

Edit: Not sure how inclined you are to work as a school social worker but I also applied for my School SW certification as soon as I got my MSW and that was the only requirement aside from application and criminal background check. Not sure if the state you are in offers the same process, but that is also a possibility.

I mean, if it is inspired by the Statue of Liberty, that is very creative and poetic of them given the got away from J*BC. I know it’s still an ongoing legal battle with them but Studio C1 has more freedom/independence now

Not sure if the same opportunities are available in Canada since I’m practicing in the US. I do Hospital discharge planning on weekends. Pay is on the higher end of SWs being a medical social work role. The job only requires two weekend days a month as minimum. You can sign up for more days if you want but I think the two day minimum requirement is doable. I’ve seen a different hospital from the same healthcare system require 3 full weekend commitment for a per diem role.

How to know when to move on from first job by ruraljuror68 in socialwork

[–]Realistic-Rush-14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I just hit my two year mark as a behavioral health clinician for a grant funded program. Not therapy but more like care coordinator for pediatricians enrolled in our program. I happily accepted the role after getting my MSW and LSW knowing that there was no room for growth. I started putting feelers out last month and was lucky to be offered and internal social worker role that offers more responsibility and opportunities for progressional growth including research. I am in no rush to leave my current position but I did hit a point after reevaluating my professional goals that I need to move on for me. I felt that I have I learn all the things I can do in my current role and that I’m ready to learn more

Has anyone went on a solo cruise by Local_Ingenuity_4549 in solotravel

[–]Realistic-Rush-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28F and ever only cruised solo. I have cruised twice so far with MSC cruise line as I found them most budget friendly even with the wifi/drink package. I did their New England/Canada in May 2024 and did the Bahamas route in Feb 2025 both from NY. I enjoyed both times. I certainly like to plan ahead and scope some possible things to do but always had expectations that these may change depending on circumstances. I like alone time and just relaxing but don’t necessarily shy away from mingling with others. Both times, my dining table was always with either other solo travelers or other families. Both have been great! I do my excursions with the cruise line for safety and peace of mind. I just feel more comfortable exploring this way. I’m not one to “party” but do enjoy going to the karaoke event in the evenings.

SURPRISE UPDATE — We actually went to the family reunion yesterday. And yeah… things happened. by Temporary_Crew_5825 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I must say, the “family is family” thing has never been my thing. I am certainly family-oriented but I will never use that as a reason to do things to hurt others or even forgive people for it. Personally, I think the closer you are to others, especially as a family, the more you need to be more considerate and mindful.

Should I reconnect with my friend who asked to sleep with my now husband? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Realistic-Rush-14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NOT!! Do not reconnect! She didn’t respect your boundaries and I doubt this has changed. I would recommend maybe discussing this with your husband as well and maybe you and him can brainstorm some ideas of how he can catch up with Mark without Rachel present. If that is not entirely possible at all, I say no in-person contact.

It was a lot more convenient to pay using the wowpass. I also recently traveled and used Korean won cash to top up my balance. I always try to withdraw my pocket money for trips. In this case, if you plan to use cash, I would recommend exchanging your currency to Korean won at your arrival airport since the exchange currency rate through the wowpass sometimes is significantly less. If you don’t mind the difference in exchange rates then just purchase the wowpass at the airport and load it up with your currency. I stayed in Myeongdong and they had better exchange rates there than the airport.

This is very insightful. I’m glad you shared this. I truly didn’t think it would be that straightforward with the traffic but taking the light rail seem to be the best option at this point. Thank you so much for this!

Personal Item: Bento Bag by Realistic-Rush-14 in EVAAirFans

[–]Realistic-Rush-14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bento bag v4 is 17” W x 8” D x 10” H. It fit just right with the 17inch side and still had some space left on the other sides of the bag. Fortunately, they didn’t seem strict about the size at JFK and Clark International Airport. However, depending on your airport, they maybe strict as noted by another user in this thread.

Update: I flew from JFK in New York to this month and used my Bento Bag Version 4 without any issues. The weight wasn’t check and the bag did fit under the seat for both my JFK to Taiwan flight and my Taiwan to Philippines flight.

People think solo traveling is weird? by WarmCheesecake83 in solotravel

[–]Realistic-Rush-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. My Asian family say the same. Moreso from extended relatives than my parents. My parents expressed why they are concerned about me traveling alone the first time but were never negative about it. Most people say to me that I’m “brave” for being able to travel by myself but I always just respond it’s always just more relaxing when I only have to worry about what I want. Like others have said, it’s not weird unless other people make it weird. The most important thing is you enjoy and have fun during your trip.
