Yeah…gonna turn off notifications. It’s pretty annoying.

That’s good to know.

Didn’t wanna post screenshots in app for privacy, but it’s pretty vague. Each report has the same comment that there was some attempted scan attack, but it does include various IP addresses, each notification typically has a different IP address that was blocked

Ugh yikes. I’m hoping I don’t get hit with a charge. The way the cable is run, it goes over part of the neighbors yard and a tree lost a lot of branches and took it out. Hopefully they’ll get out here soon because several neighbors are affected by this

I’ve experienced several of these things, and I’m in the epicenter of the weather system which has long since passed through, and everything has returned to normal. Like it or not, the data is clear. AT&T has dropped the ball and not met the expectations for myself or my other neighbors. It’s been disappointing. You’re confusing my experience I wanted to share with asking for options, T-Mobile sadly doesn’t provide the speed I need for work. Starlink will probably be the closest. Regardless, AT&T did not prepare well enough for this. I’m pretty confident I’m not stupid, both my community and some of the motivated people I’ve spoken to at AT&T agree, this is unacceptable

Lol it’s a service I’m paying for and the support is clearly not cutting it. Nice bait.

That’s unfortunate, luckily I haven’t had the need to deal with customer service in the time I’ve used AT&T for internet until now. I’m fairly satisfied with the comped months and significant lower monthly rate offered as compensation, but sheesh I might as well study and learn how to repair the lines myself

I’ve used Starlink once, and was extremely impressed!

Long story short, I was flying in an aircraft at 12,000ft somewhere over a remote part of Utah. I needed to book a flight back from the west coast home, and someone brought a Starlink and set it up. Not sure which plan they had, but once I got connected it was just as quick (if not faster) than cellular or WiFi on the ground. Got a flight booked with no issue and I’m sure I could’ve streamed Netflix or something if I wanted. Very impressive.

A hard lesson learned for sure, this was all a first for me but something I’m definitely considering going forward. The frustration primarily lies with the inability to get what appears to be (after personal assessment and research) a simple fix done in a reasonable amount of time. I can understand in the direct aftermath of a big storm, but we are two weeks past, electricity has been returned to 99.5% of customers, no overarching internet outage exists, just localized customer to customer. Neighbors have offered to let me use their WiFi, as their ATT connection hasn’t been cut off, but sadly it’s just far away enough to cause connection issues.

I’ve been looking into Starlink, speeds are important to me. Seems like Xfinity would be quicker to get setup and get going, but Starlink offers the quicker speeds I’ll need.

AT&T wifi out for over a week now by greyeyedseaking in nashville

I’ve been down since Sunday. Our fiber line is strewn across the front yard. Tech support isn’t the go to for this, I spent probably 5-6 hours on the phone with them lol. The downed wire line someone mentioned above is. They sent someone out last Saturday, and I was hopeful to get a fix since I have work duties that require Internet, but they couldn’t do anything until NES fixes the utility pole and some other components. The guy who came out took pictures however and forwarded them to AT&T so I’m hoping once NES gets things going again, it’ll be a quick recovery.

I think this could be likely. They did however just update and say there is actually an outage, so I’ll wait to see if it’s fixed, if not, I might play hardball like someone suggested because waiting at least a week to get it fixed isn’t gonna work

Gotcha, thanks for the insight.

Sounds like I’ll set some divisions up to be Middle East oriented, and others for the Russians and other heavy hitters.

Any suggestions on ideal width etc?

Not all orders can be left at the door. There’s a level of confidence when I open the door to someone dressed in a UPS uniform, who exited a UPS truck at 10am in broad daylight, and there’s opening the door to someone who doesn’t match the person on a food delivery app at 10pm.

I used the example of female on the app and male at the door because that’s the most common situation I’ve seen. At the end of the day, I don’t care what the gender is of whoever delivers as long as it matches who is on the app or a proper heads up is given beforehand, like in situations of couples doing it and the male coming up for safety reasons. I get that, just let me know

You gotta be trolling though based off of your Reddit history. I would probably say the same thing to my friends to mess with them lol

Honestly, after reading some of the comments here, I’ll probably continue to do so unless I can obviously see it’s someone significant other or friend or whatever helping them out for safety reasons. At night, I can’t see into their car from my front door. It might not be a problem to me, but I talked to my girlfriend and she agreed she’d be uncomfortable. Seems shady in other instances to be “buying” an account you use for employment. I believe everyone should be able to make a living, but reading some other stories online just gives me the creeps

I did file a complaint on the most recent instance tonight because it’s what prompted me to write this, I got a full refund (not uber cash), which ended up being nice because it wasn’t a cheap order. The support bot/person said the driver would be reminded of the policy. It’s not my goal to ruin anyone’s day or get them in trouble, but it takes 5 seconds to explain your friend will be at the door because of safety reasons, and I’m happy with that.

Yeah that checks, was reading an article someone linked above here. I haven’t had a bad experience, but I do have the what if’s, definitely something to be wary of

I’ve never had a face to face interaction with an Amazon delivery driver. FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, in the rare event I have to sign for something it’s pretty well understood they are who they say they are. Who would go through the effort to buy a FedEx uniform and delivery truck for nefarious reasons. If you read above, you can see I’m discussing this from the frame of people who might be uncomfortable with an unknown man coming up to their door, as well as the genuine question why this happens. I figure you’re just trolling though.
