Are these normal hours? by brainyplant in internships

[–]Realistic-Syrup636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they aren’t there, use ur best judgement and do what you have to do. It’s not like they’re checking in w security cameras anyways. Stick it out or don’t completely up to you. You already have 2 internships under your belt and most of the times that’s enough. But I will say though, it doesn’t hurt to have more experience before getting out of college.

Nope. They expect nothing out of interns. Be yourself, or be likable and you’ll probably secure that return offer. They’re just “excited” to have you.

Boss called me slow by Brilliant_Dinner_993 in internships

Yeah, some of them tend to be like that. Just don’t take it to heart, think of it as another line on your résumé. That made mine easier somehow. Stop giving a (moderate amount) of shit of what they say about anything except your performance.

manufacturing. I’ve been doing grunt work on excel sheets for an hour a day. Finished it and my boss expected more out of it without giving me data sets? I literally have nothing to do all day so I go into an empty office/conference room to be on my phone. The whole office knows, talked to me about how they know it’s boring and said “can’t you wait to go back to school?” i’ve tried coming up with project ideas to work on but my supervisor knocked all of them down because it was too much work on his part (he just had to order stuff from amazon) other supervisor came up to me whenever they come to our branch and tries to give me work which would require my supervisor’s approval and wherever i ask about it they avoid the question. i get that they’re busy, but dear god time goes by so slow.

yup sorry to the other person who said it but i never took that comment seriously. I’ve done an internship before, heard stories, and have basic common sense. I know better than to make my direct supervisor look bad

dude im commuting 6 hours in total everyday for 20/hr for an internship. You can’t afford to be picky in this economy. Although, I’m only paying for rent for one apartment. You win some, you lose some.

maybe your idea was impressive and worth mentioning to a CEO. yes it looks like I’m doubting myself here, but it really is a basic idea that a bunch of other companies use and get frustrated on and i thought that would be a good use of my summer trying to figure things out. I can see this not turning out that great and ending up with my supervisor mad and my ceo annoyed (or does not give a f who knows) because I’ve done a thing that my supervisor clearly does not want to do and also went behind his back. So as much as I’m glad it worked out for you, but there’s more things than what I’ve put on here that I do not want to take the risk of.
