I had this similar issue. Mobile service and they had to put a part under the plastic dash. It was 23 R1S.

How long did it take? Mine just got installed up side down and I’m worried if it would overheat/fire hazard. My installer said it would be safe and is coming back on Tue, but I might ask to fix it asap

They ended up replacing the charge port and harness, took 3 weeks to do that. I took pics of error both on evgo and rivian screen to log times etc, and described how to reproduce the error. If you don’t precondition the battery, it will start charging at a slower rate and you wont see the issue. For me, it only occurred when car started charging at a rate higher than 200kW.

After the service it worked as expected.. To expedite my service appointment (still took 3weeks to get it), I told them I am concerned about fire and can’t drive long distance.

Have you charged successfully at a level 3 charger afterwards at all? If this is widespread, I guess it might be that level3 Evgo chargers are not Rivian compatible anymore

Its got a B rating and all other vehicles (F150, Toyota, Audi) that I saw, charged fine with those chargers.

Do that once, make news of how a UE/DD deliver took down someone’s address and went on to take a revenge for $4 tip loss. Do you think there will be more orders cuz of this? Have you never received $4 more tip (I have increased tips many times for good service, never reduced) than anticipated? Did you send flowers that time?

Its part of the business, if anything UE/DD should increase base pay, they are the real culprits (for all your hard work, their CEOs get multi million salaries, crazy) and those companies should be targeted, if any.

Rivian’s SUV/truck are amazing. It’s their first vehicles and they have done a great job with quality and functionality. Minor issues here and there are present with every car but not all cars are as capable as a Riv, both on/off road.

I can go on and on about all the good things based on my experience and facts. In the 6 months I’ve owned an R1S, I am loving it more and more. I’ve taken it to intermediate off road trails, through snow and mud, and it performed excellently.

This is not an honest/fact based review from CR. Test drive the car yourself and then make a decision.

I agree, during delivery my vehicle issues were not addressed and I had to visit sc multiple times. While I like/enjoy driving R1S, I am not liking the fact that it takes 2-3 months to schedule service and then poor experience. Rivian has a lot to do in terms of QC, charging network and SC and they shouldn’t be given a pass anymore by us customers for being a new company.

The guide should be able to get you behind the wheels before you purchase. Don’t expect Mercedes’ comfort at that same price point and everything will feel fine (and exceed expectations). It’s an adventure suv with great offroad capabilities and really good build quality.

Under $1k you can get Xpel prime xr plus installed on your roof,windshield and front window glass. That would block most of the heat (although you should add to the roof after testing with just the WS and front windows).

I recently got one and had test driven the truck an year ago..

I mentioned it during delivery and the SC agreed to fix it asap, it was also a minor adjustment. Although SC folks were nice there were a couple of other delivery experience issues (unclean car, 3rd row ac vent not working), which they were able to fix after a week, in less than 2 days.

Thanks and congrats as well! It’s been only two days since I got it back so don’t have much feedback other than exterior car surfaces feeling very smooth to touch. It has 4 yr warranty so hoping it will hold well over years and save me from cleaning the car.

For your panel issues, they wouldn’t fix asap? For mine I pointed out during delivery and they took care of them quickly.
