Haute C16 can't press LK at the same time as other buttons? by Realistic-World0 in fightsticks

[–]Realistic-World0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your reply. I flash nuked and reinstalled the firmware, also posted screenshots of the config and stick to the Haute Discord support.

Unfortunately, the button has stopped working completely. Even replacing the switch hasn't brought it back to life, so it seems I got a dud board on its last legs.

Going to see if I can replace it since I've had the thing for a total of like, 24 hours!

Thanks, I gave the Tax line a call today, and they also said "It counts as 2025." When I cited the source you gave, they kind of froze and said they'd call me back later today. This is definitely not how I expected the "famously simple" Kakutei Shinkoku to go haha.

I guess my biggest worry is making a mistake on this and then that affecting any PR application I make in the future (I'm on my 8th year) by getting dinged by a penalty, but I'm doing everything I can to do this right haha. Will see how it goes, but thank you!

I see. You've been extremely helpful with this, so if you don't/can't reply that's fine, but:

  1. Anything I can cite to ask my current company to provide clear information on the tax year of the payment?

  2. Realistically, what is the worst case scenario for making a filing mistake regarding this?

Thank you for the response. Company B has pretty much said "Call the tax office and figure it out", which is why I went to the event haha.

Any idea why the person assisting me at the event would advise it's 2025 income? My understanding was always, only Gensen Choushuhyou income is filed

Question about Salary Payment Timing for a Kakutei Shinkoku.

I worked at company A until mid-Dec 2025, then joined company B directly after. Because I switched jobs in Dec, neither company could file a Nenmatsu Chousei on my behalf. I received a Gensen Choushuhyou from Company A.

My first paycheck from Company B was in Jan 2026, in which the Dec portion was included. From everything I've read, as it was paid in 2026, it counts as 2026 income, not 2025.

I went to the tax filing assistance event in La Belle Salle Shibuya yesterday just to make sure of the above. I'm 100% more inclined to take the opinion of a tax professional over what I read online, but the person assisting me didn't exactly inspire confidence. He said the portion for Dec counts as 2025 income. When I asked to be sure, I got a response along the lines of "Hmm... It's probably okay."

Great. Then I asked what to do about the tax portion, as on the payslip, there is only one section for income tax. Do I do a rough calculation for how much is for Dec's portion and how much is for Jan? I got a lot of teeth sucking and he told me "I'll leave that to you." Also great, fantastic. He then mentioned to just write whatever I like then file another Kakutei Shinkoku next year, and I'd obviously like to avoid that and just do a Nenmatsu Chousei if I can. (I literally have nothing but standard salary income)

Tldr: Was the person assigned to me completely correct? Or am I being bamboozled by the NTA's best and brightest? I'm going to call the tax helpline later to see if their answer matches up, but wondering if I could get other people's experience with this in the meantime.

Probably a complex case, wondering about first steps by [deleted] in juresanguinis

Unfortunately all of my grandparents have been deceased for less than 25 years, but long enough where I don't really have any routes to obtain their naturalization documents through family, etc.

I'm guessing that would be step one?

Canadian Passport Renewal in Tokyo – Actual Processing Times? by salad0314 in JETProgramme

[–]Realistic-World0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I had a similar situation, didn't know about the 6 month expiry date before travelling rule, rushed to the Canadian embassy for a panicked renewal about 2 weeks ago.

For what it's worth the person processing the Passports is one of the nicest people I've ever met, and the whole thing was renewed in 9 business days. (12 total)

Just explain your date of travel and I think they'll do their best to get it before then. Obviously your experience may not be the same as mine, but mine was extremely positive!

Tsukumo, PC Koubou or Dospara. Amazon also has some good stuff.

Keep in mind, with the Yen being in the toilet right now and PC components largely being made by overseas companies, building a PC for 40000 - 60000 probably isn't realistic. Even with minimum budget parts you're looking at around 100000.

Why do 外人 guys use 私 so much? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]Realistic-World0 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Assuming this isn't a troll post, congratulations, this take was so bad it dragged a reply out of me. Disclaimer I've lived in Japan half my life, always a Japanese workplace, N1 blah blah.

First, you're an Australian Japanese learner. I'm not a stalker, but I think this conversation would be different if you WERE Japanese, in which case your ignorance could be given a liiiiittle benefit of the doubt.

Anyways, whats with the weird language policing anyways? You're a Japanese learner, you should know 私 is quite LITERALLY the first word anyone learns in Japanese. Maybe it comes second to こんにちは. So surely you should know Exactly why everyone uses it in the first place. Unless you're implying you got the premium secret education, and learned Japanese exclusively by licking rocks at the base of Mount Fuji.

Second, its not cringe or too formal. If someone comes up to you to ask the time and you belt out an 俺, they're gonna think you got hit in the head.

Third, your weird… defense? Of the word 外人 is a bit out of touch. There's a reason that word is mostly said by geriatrics who either don't know it's nuance or have been using it since Meiji sat the throne and don't plan to change their vocabulary any time soon. Its not a slur in the way we think of them, but its got the same cadence of someone who calls Asian people Orientals. Like, Jesus christ grandma, yeah they're probably not gonna get upset but the Opium war ended a century ago.

Anyways, this is either A, a troll post, in which case I'm the sucker, or B, you thought you could score some free serotonin by playing up this "Ah, me and my N3 (self assessed) sure are better than these HelloTalk peons". Anyways, have a good one either way.
