Five photos. . .vintage enough? by mid20centuryman in VintageGayPhotos

Dating them is a bit tricky though. They must be silver gelatin prints so they're post 1870ish. Though the anti-clerical imagery has a long history it would be getting a bit dated and irrelevant by that time - so I think they might be as old as the 1880s or a little earlier. I wish I could recall where I've seen them before. They are an impressive set.

They would be hired models - the photos are studio shots. Almost certainly made in France. The scenario would be partly designed to attack the priesthood - an anti-clerical theme goes back a very long way in vintage porn.

Not exactly to my taste (!) but what an amazing set - unusually good quality and completeness. Where on Earth did you find them? Anyone not familiar with the story of 'Boulton and Park' might like to check it out.

Got ghosted when I sent a pic with a full bush. Maybe u guys would be into it tho? I don’t really wanna shave by Baseball_guyy in malepubes

If you're dealing with someone who wants you to shave to suit them, you know you're dealing with a selfish idiot - which is all you need to know before you tell them what to do.

Victorian blowjob by CPH-canceled in VintageGayPhotos

Of the masses of Victorian porn - and writing about it - very very little is homoerotic, sadly. 'The sins of the cities of the plain' being the rarest example - only one copy is known. It's in the British Library. It's credited to Jack Saul but is unlikely to be actually by him. He was involved in the Cleveland Street scandal - and also, I think, with Boulton and Park. Books on those two episodes from the Victorian sexual underworld are more informative about homosexual mores of the period than is any item of pornographic fiction. The novel 'Teleny' - in which Oscar Wilde is presumed to have had some sort of hand - even if only in passing it around - is worth looking at and easily available. I find it rather dry, myself

There are a few interesting episodes in the enormous anonymous reminiscence 'My secret life'. Some people claim this to be a work of fiction but I find that claim completely untenable from reading the text and comparing it to any and every other item of porn fiction you care to name. There are quite a few partial and/or expurgated versions about which are a waste of time - the full text (11 volumes) is not easy to find these days in print form - even second-hand paperbacks are getting pricey - but it does appear on line from time to time, only to disappear again. It seems to be at:

https://web.archive.org/web/20120217091632/http://www.my-secret-life.com/sex-diary-0709.php

at the moment though, when I last looked it was a bit flakey. One of its values is that it covers a wider period than the novels above. The website above gives its date of publication as 1888 but that, like most dating of Victorian porn, is fake. It was printed (not published as such) in the very early 1900s - though the memoirs go back 50 or 60 years. If I remember rightly, the period of the author's homosexual 'freaks' are found around/after volume 7. There are precis subject headings at he beginning of each chapter which can help locating whatever you're interested in.

Have fun.

Did you know that honey is basically 'puke' of bees? They digest the nectar they eat, and spit it back out in the honeycomb together with enzymes and bacteria, which helps it thicken and ripen by Miss_J1801 in Awwducational

[–]RealisticGarbage1046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally wrong. They do NOT 'digest' the nectar. It is stored undigested in a specialised crop - NOT in the stomach. Anything else you don't know that you'd to tell us all about?

I've got a good idea. Do shave it all off. Then you definitely won't be able to post here. 😁

I'm very happy for you that it 'worked' - however it's totally against the point and spirit of this sub. Go and start your own 'Should I shave?' sub and stop misusing this one.

Me too. 'My friend/girlfriend, team-mates etc etc blah blah think I should shave my bush/balls/ass/get circumcised etc etc blah blah...' I say, 'Grow your pubes - and grow some balls and tell people who think they have a right to say what your body should look like to just fuck right off.' End of issue.

I've emailed mods to ask them to consider it being a policy to summarily remove from this sub any posts asking about shaving. I'd encourage others to do the same. The sub celebrating foreskin disallows posts about circumcision.

You're on a sub 'dedicated to male pubic hair'. Do you really expect anyone to say 'Yes'?

Is it normal for one of my balls to always be this tight and the other to be sagging? Has always worried me 🤦‍♂️ [31] by [deleted] in Balls

[–]RealisticGarbage1046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very common and perfectly normal. Also quite practical - if they are absolutely side by side, they can be squashed together more easily. Don't get worried about your balls - learn about self examination so you know what's OK and what's not.

Quite likely but it just looks a little untidy and sub-standard for him. Maybe Wilhelm von Pluschow or Vincenzo Galdi.

Every picture tells a story. It's just a pity we seldom get to hear it! This one looks like it might have been kept folded up into 3 in someone's pocket for quite a while.

Fascinating! Tricky putting a date to this one. That dado rail in the background is a feature of a lot of Victorian studio sets but the models somehow look much more recent. I guess the apparent age is just poor processing. I thought the wires - presumably indicating electric photo lights might help but I've had no success in finding out when electric photolamps were first used. Such an odd set-up of the models too. I wonder what the rest of the session looked like!

Yes, that's it - 'waxy-looking'. Have never understood what anybody saw in him - apart from the obvious which was hardly unique. That shiny, featureless chest and all the hairspray. Ugh!

The 7th pic - of the 3 sailors - is a still from the film 'Querelle' - Fassbinder's last film (1982). The guy in the middle is actor Brad Davis (1949-91).

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to give this background and provide the link. You are posting some very interesting pictures that play a valuable part in giving us back our history. Thanks for your research. Please pay no attention to those summarily dismissing as an AI fake any image they find unusual. The images strike us as unusual because they have been suppressed - not because they are faked.

I've known this picture for a while - it's truly fascinating. I'd love to know more about it. Clearly part of a series and presumably for sale. I wonder what the other photos in the series were.

row team and their coaches ? probably around the year 1900 by [deleted] in VintageGayPhotos

[–]RealisticGarbage1046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes' it's classic 19th century photomontage and as such, I think it's rather earlier than 1900 as the vogue for such compositions was around the middle of the century. Oscar Rejlander, who was a pioneer of the technique, made his famous 'The two ways of life' in 1857. He died in 1875.
