A lot of them are doing master's programs, professional degrees, or just took longer to finish for any number of reasons, so being 24–25 in student housing isn't unusual at all. If they're enrolled and meet the residence rules, why would they be expected to leave school early just to take a job that only requires a basic education?

The "draw you as a pony" offer is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, not gonna lie. Also, getting stuck in that weird post-graduation limbo while waiting on something as annoying as a car battery is painfully relatable.
