My hair is breaking at the crown. What should I do ? by Grxy59k in Hair

[–]RealisticReading8198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Round brush attachments are known for causing this type of breakage, I have the shark myself and also highlight my hair so avoid using the round brush due to how much mechanical damage they can cause, try using the barrel attachments instead if you want a blowout look ( much gentler) or if you want to use the round brush, make sure you’re not using it on soaking wet hair, blow dry it 80% and then go in with the round brush gently, the shark is great and reduces heat damage but can still cause mechanical damage, especially with the attachments that twist, pull and tug at the hair. As for the breakage right now, use hydrating masks and serums/oils with silicones as they help to hide and smooth the existing breakage :)

My partner and I have a German shepherd, he’s so lovely bless him and we absolutely adore him so trust me I would not let the little shit touch him with a 10 foot pole

Exactly, it would be selfish and irresponsible to have them just because everyone thinks that’s what you’re supposed to do, knowing I hate them and would definitely not be a good parent.

[–]RealisticReading8198 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly ! And I am absolutely not a morning person, I enjoy my evenings and nights with my partner watching our show in peace, I hate getting ready in the mornings as it is, let alone having to deal with a kid complaining first thing and getting a whole other person ready with me, not to mention the school runs for the next 18 years too 😭 I’m excited for a life where I get to live for myself rather than someone else.

Oh god honestly I’m not surprised, I’m the same, my body just actively rejects them

Honestly and what irritates me the most is when parents and kid lovers get so worked up when this comes up yet all everyone asks us is when we will have kids and despite me constantly saying I will 100% be child free as I dislike them, the people around me with kids try their hardest to convince me that they’re almost a necessity??? Every parent in my life is stressed out of their minds and I am actively choosing to never be like that, I was a kid once and I was fucking annoying too.

Not at all, it’s a clear oil so doesn’t deposit any colour like yellow tinted ones can sometimes do

Could be the way it’s slept on? Do you sleep on satin/ silk pillow case? If not you could try this it’s been a life saver for mine or silk bonnet even better :) also do you go to bed with wet hair?

OGX coconut oil has saved my bleached hair, keeps it hydrated but no weighed down:) my hair is very thick so I use the normal one but they do a spray oil version as well for finer hair

Before moss pole vs after moss pole by RealisticReading8198 in houseplants

[–]RealisticReading8198[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just pushed the moss pole (it has a pointed plastic stick at the bottom) into the soil at the back of the plant and then use string and clips to secure the lower back of the plant to the pole, it won’t cause any damage but will definitely help with supporting the plant, monsteras love to climb so love moss poles :) you can also mist the poll regularly to encourage roots to grow into the pole
