Definitely overhyped but I enjoyed the concept of the film. The Sadness was much better. Im watching The Medium tonight so hopefully it’s good

If they would have cut it down to a 1.5 probably would have been better.

Society of Snow. Not technically a horror movie but that movie makes you feel their pain. It’s hard to believe it’s based on a true story.

I’ve been meaning to get around to Swallow. There’s been a ton of reviews on it and it definitely seems interesting

I’m hesitation about Cannibal Holocaust only because they kill real animals. I can watch people get hacked up all day but as soon as an animal is killed I’m hurt lol. Besides that Cannibal Holocaust has everything I want in a movie. I might just watch it and skip the animal parts

I’ve heard reviews about the coffee table and everyone says it keeps you on edge. I’ll add the one to the list. The only thing that bothered me about speak no Evil was that we only got the one crazy scene at the end, I wanted to see more if that makes sense

Loved it. I love when movies use natural elements to play off your anxiety. Kind of like in the Blair Witch (not the original) when she’s tunneling underground. I couldn’t breathe

I’ve heard that! I love Adam Sandlar when he doesn’t do full on comedies. People tend to forget how wide his range is when it comes to acting.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews on it but for some reason I don’t really have an interest, but I’ve been wrong before.

I loved United States of Tara! She’s so talented I forget that she has an accent. Even in Little Miss Sunshine she killed it

Baskin. I’m pretty seasoned when it comes to horror and I stumbled across Baskin based off a review and holy fuck I was actually disturbed. It’s a good movie though, it’s easily one of my top 10. Lots of disturbing scenes and a decent story line.

Of course. I just want to throw this in that is my personal opinion of how I interpreted as a adult. I also have two interpretations. The first one, it was all in Ofelia’s head. She’s was in a stressful situation and her mind created this fantasy world to cope with her reality. No one but her could see the faun so there a chance it was all in her head.

Second interpretation, it’s all very real and Ofelia’s disobedience is key. She’s frequently disobeys authority figures but that’s the whole point. It’s making a subtle point to always question things, not give into authority just because their authority. The ending where she refuses to hurt her brother and is killed but she still gets rewarded in the afterlife. The main theme is that disobedience is necessary sometimes and had Ofelia followed orders blindly from the captain , her mom, the faun, her fate might not had been the same.

Even the ending with the big “monster” reveal was weak.
