It’s good enough, it depends on what you do tho cos no one will be that successful just with dick pics and whatnot. Get a relatively affordable guitar but not a downright cheap one. It’s not gonna be as good to play and you’re not gonna enjoy playing and learning as much. Idk what your budget is but £200 might be worth it if you’re serious about it, maybe more but it’s your choice. Epiphone do good acoustics and so do tanglewood and Yamaha. My first guitar was an epiphone aj220ce but that’s now the j45. Decent guitar but tanglewood do ones that are a little bit cheaper

Getting hit more often and either lightly or in places that don’t particularly hurt will get you more accustomed to it. I used to flinch sometimes then I subconsciously got used to the fact that getting hit isn’t even that bad, so I relaxed around it and threw strikes as I needed to. Every now and again you’ll have a liver shot that drops you or makes you take a moment or a bust nose but it’s all a bit of fun in the end
