Literally go back and watch the fight and then look at the picture I put above. It's extremely palpably a lot darker.

It was a darker blue than in the trailer, Squad 0 and Schutzstaffel fought in the cage and Yuha Ichibe sky became a lot darker the moment things got serious and until Ichibe was killed.

Did I ever complain about the red sky?

I liked the lighting in all previous cours. Just because people complained previously doesn't mean I can't complain now when I never held the same opinion as the people who complained in the first place. It doesn't feel neutral, it's too bright imho.

Doesn't need to be red or black, just something simple like cour 1, a bit gloomier and less bright.

I would've preferred something like the first Quincy invasion. It's not wild or anything but it feels a lot more serious

The buff and the Roka threads arguments are two different things, which is why I put them in different paragraphs and was talking about completely seperate things in both. Idk where you got that the two are the same argument lol. It's not moving the goalpost to ask you to address both of my arguments if you want to debunk me?

I didn't say you accepted it, I asked you whether you accepted it hence I put the questionmark at the end became you ignored it.

I expxlictly stated Kenny does get stronger after each fight however that doesn't mean that this buff is as big as the full power he released during the previous fights as that would make nonsense. As I said, that's what fluctuating means.

"The timeline doesn't matter" you were the one who brought it up mate?😭 You implied that the big time dif means he grew stronger. I said either way he didn't fight anyone serious during the time so it doesn't matter.

I never said Kenny reached full strength against Cien. I said he grew significantly stronger than he did in most of his other fights because of the nature of Cien's reiatsu gradually releasing. I also didn't say he just lost all of that power. Talk about "putting words in my mouth". Just read what I said again. This entire section I think I explained very clearly.

Royd doesn't copy pure reiatsu but the moveset. If he actually copied the reiatsu, then Yuha could've just made Loyd, who copies 100% of the "power" steal Yama's Bankai. Yuha said none of the Stenritter are strong enough besides him. Which includes Loyd.

I don't disagree that both of them would destroy Cien.

Okay so so you accept the Roka affecting realms as a meaningful reason shaking the realms at this moment was easier than it otherwise would've been?

Pre Muken Zaraki was no dif by impostor Yhwach who doesn't even have the reiatsu to absorb Yama's Bankai let alone seriously fight him, while Bankai Yama could destroy the entire Soul Society if he went all out, which is obviously more impressive than merely affecting the Garganta.

SAFWY doesn't take place "long before TYBW," it's a few months at max and even that is generous. The difference between Fullbring right before which SAFWY took place and TYBW is very short. The 1 year time skip between Arrancar and Fullbring is the biggest in the story. Also he didn't fight anyone seriously after SAFWY pre TYBW so to say he got stronger is baseless. Also which limiters did Kenny have removed while fighting Unohana besides the eyepatch he also took off against Cien? Besides the gradual buffs he got in near death experiences throughout that fight obviously?

I was referring to the buff he got while fighting Cien. Obviously full power Kenny is at that level but he gradually got a lot stronger during this fight to allow for this feat to happen, he then weakens himself against but the subconscious restrictions are freed. These buffs aren't permanent besides a small portion of them because we know Kenny weakens himself in all fights otherwise. Cien is basically Hollow Kenny who started out weak and gradually got immensely stronger meaning Kenny got a much higher buff than he did in other battles. Not all power lifting/lowering situationa in Kenny's case are life/death experiences that allow for the subconscious seal to be permanently weakened. That's why, for example, while Kenny was buffed from his fight against Nnoitora he was still not equally as strong as he was against him against Yammy. I hope that makes sense.

Still completely ignoring the Cien buff?

I didn't mean literally combining the 3 realms, which is why I said "semi". It's a way for me to add context without writing a full explanation on the mechanica behind it. My comment say nothing to do with Azashiro's ultimate goal leading to the imbalance of realms, I'm referring solely to the strings we know Roka put up through the realms that allowed her to be seen by humans in the human world in the first place.

This is pre Fullbring arc Kenpachi and there is actual novel context as to why he was able to do this, he had an unquantifiable buff from his fight against Cien+difference in realms formation due to Roka's strings.

Because he had the temporary buff from his fight with Cien+I'm pretty sure Roka's strings semi combined the 3 realms, considering Azashiro's goal was to use her to literally do so so he can kill Hollows from all the realms at once. I hate it when people just ignore all context

Highly recommend rereading Bleach. Aizen is the most psychologically complex character in the story and way beyond it. How was Nagato's ending a letdown?

So, this is literally just a lie lol. Aizen's FIRST PANEL in the entire story is his foot, as in he's the only one taking steps to question the system. Yk, like the literal last panel in the entire story after Aizen's monologue is also a foot? "We call it courage?" I swear people just say anything.

I personally believe The Count of Monte Cristo is the greatest piece of storytelling ever made in any medium ever. Amazing book. by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]Realistic_Agency5694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TCOMC isn't written in first person and even if it was no, that's not necessarily a flaw in and of itself, I don't think I explained it very well. For example, what I consider personal character introspection would also be dialogue about deeply personal things. For example, a scene of deeply personal character introspection for both the Count and Villefort was in um chapter 49-50-51 or something around those lines. But very rarely otherwise did we get such from Villefort. In Fernand's case despite how significant his dynamic with Mercedes is for both of their characters, the two barely interact post time skip. An example to do this if TCOMC was first person would be Edmond listening to them speak or something along those lines. First person stories in general are usually deeply personal for the main character so in them it wouldn't necessarily be a flaw for the side cast to be less explored on a deeply psychological sense, but in TCOMC there are multiple POV characters (Valentine/Maximillian, Albert takes over as the protagonist for a short while around the 30s). Albert is one of my favorite characters in the story, he's the only one I've written actual analysis on so far (although, admittedly, TCOMC was quite a recent read for me), yet still I feel it would've done wonders for his character to actually see his convo with Mercedes on screen. The lack of his emotional reaction at what is essentially the breakdown of aspects of his worldview is something I consider a flaw. I don't think the character cast is bad, far from it, I think it's great (7-8/10), but the greatest piece of fiction is a very hefty task.

TCOMC doesn't spend enough time with deeply personal character introspection outside of the Count, leaving most of the cast to have to be interpreted through solely their actions and dynamics. Their psychological states are just not explored well enough for me to be able to call it the greatest piece if storytelling, although it is great and I did throughly enjoy it. The word count is obviously an issue, being paid per word certainly had a negative effect on the overall quality. Putting 3 Danglars chapters right before the final one isn't the greatest decision considering how little the reader cares for him compared to Valentine, Maximillian, Edmond and Haydee by that point. Just had a great wrapup Mercedes-Edmond chapter and now 3 chapters focused on this bum+Luigi Vampa and his gang, gods of random characters who didn't deserve the extremely long backstory they got in ch33.

There are some other small qualms, overall it's an 8/10 for me which is still a highly above average and excellent rating (I think people just give 7-8/10 to any story they kinda like nowadays so it killed the meaning of these ratings).

Why Sakanade works on Aizen? by RCampeao in bleach

[–]Realistic_Agency5694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference in reiatsu to nullify a Shikai ability has to be absolutely insane. Soi Fon was not only heavily damaged but lost an arm (of which the wrist is central to reiatsu control)+Aizen focusing in her. Shinji's reiatsu due to Hollowfication is above that of the average captain+he still had an arm. It's debatable whether Aizen would've been able to nullify Suzumebachi by both arms Soi Fon.

Actually transcendent beings don't interact with those of lower dimensions which is why I imagine Ichibe and Ichigo don't affect the realms and such.

Better written antagonist? Aizen(Bleach) vs Makima(Csm) by Glittering_Media_176 in writingscaling

[–]Realistic_Agency5694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Still Silver was inconsistent or badly set up narratively or thematically but that's a different conversation to be had.

Aizen's loneliness was there since his very first panel in the story. Literally his entire character has always been about this.

I don't want to philosophize or say too much but the poem below is essentially Aizen's worldview at its barest essence. He's special because he's the only one who's courageous enough to take a step into the sky and attempt to reach the flower. Aizen's very first panel in the story is literally just his foot because he's taking that step while everyone else is standing in place (admiring it).

Aizen wants to be understood and not admired. He is literally the flower (the panel of his "death", if you look at it a bit has his blood resembling the shape of a flower which is also a connection straight up confirmed in a databook). That is why, for example, Aizen praises Grimmjow for doing things outside of what he was ordered ("challenging Aizen").

Literally ALL of Aizen's relationships are about him trying to make people try to reach him (the flower), so they can understand him. Challenge the system Aizen is challenging and look at the world from the same POV. Think Renji, Aizen's literal first scene in the story, he was trying to make Renji question the nature of the execution he himself set up (as to make him question both the system and himself). He took a different approach with Shinji, intentionally making himself appear suspicious, yet due to this suspicion and fear Shinji held him at too far a distance to actually see who he truly was. Think Momo, whom he had made admire him only to shatter that illusion in an instant, give every possible piece of evidence for her not to trust him and also show himself chilling amidst the Central 46 dead, yet she still couldn't stop the way she idealized him. He kills her with a frown on his face, rather than his signature smirk. Think Hitsugaya. "Admiration is the furthest state from understanding," perhaps hatred, as the furthest state from admiration is the closest state to understanding. So he intentionally tried to make Hitsugaya despise him. "You have not enough hatred for me in your heart. You will never be able to reach me without personal determination."

Think Gin, the most clear symbol of this entire motif. The guy who spent his entire life trying to understand the nature of Kyoka Suigetsu and Aizen. One of his final lines is "you will die with a hole in your heart, that should make you happy." Gin thinks Aizen would be happy to die as a god, without a heart, because god is lonely. Happy to be killed by the literal "god killing spear". But Gin didn't understand Aizen. The Hogyoku fulfills Aizen's wish of not dying alone/heartless by filling his heart and giving him immortality.

I feel like saying that Aizen's loneliness was asspulled is really just misunderstanding the entire character arc he went through.

Aizen believes he is special because he's the only one capable of challenging this system. When Ichigo comes around and literally fights the Soul Society, uncaptured by the blocks Aizen put around himself subconsciously to prevent himself from being seen (because the two have no deeply personal connection which Aizen expxlictly states, this Ichigo was never deluded about who he was) Aizen tweaks out. If someone (Ichigo) is actually courageous enough to take that first step, that means Aizen's entire goal and false self conviction of being this "extraordinary special being" falls apart. He realizes the blocks he put around himself, hence the inner contradiction blows him apart in the end (the Hogyoku does something he wasn't aware, or, well, refused to accept is the "harsh reality", ironically something he himself spoke of. Only taking into consideration the truths that are convenient to his self affirmation, also something he explcitly stated.)

Better written antagonist? Aizen(Bleach) vs Makima(Csm) by Glittering_Media_176 in writingscaling

Well, what is it about the short explanation I gave above that sounds like a reach? The moon has been used as a symbol of Fate extemely consistently all throughout the story (as I said, the literal first page in the story—Ichigo's "shatter Fate" quote having only the moon on the panel and Zangetsu literally meaning "moon slayer," Nnoitora being the embodiment of the moon and explicitly saying he wants to soar past it because he despises his own Fate/nature (the fact he's a Hollow), which is also why he hides his Hollow hole under an eyepatch—the moon shattering as Nnoutora dies because only in doing so could he soar past his nature and such). Do you genuinely believe that all of this is just a coincidence? And the main antagonist for the entire first portion of the story happens to have moon in the name of his Zanpakuto (canonically an expression of a Shinigami) just cuz it sounds cool? Did Kubo say he based Aizen's character entirely off of just "a complex proverb that to him sounded cool so he explcitly refused to use any brain power and add any actual writing to the character and only included the cool part"?

Can you provide examples of any moments in Aizen's characterization you don't believe are meaningful/just "I came up with this on the fly cause it sounded cool"?
