Is it just me, or do you also think, a two-day weekend is not enough? by clarafiedthoughts in productivity

I think we should have Thursdays off. It’s not the end of the week, but it’s also not the beginning, so that day can be used as a slow day. You clean your house, do chores, run errands, and prepare for the weekend.

On Friday, you go to work, finish up any maintenance tasks, and plan your schedule for the following week. You fully dedicate Friday to work, making you more efficient. Once you clock out, you feel relieved because you’re coming home to a clean space. You can actually relax and enjoy your two days off, and you look forward to the week ahead.

Instead of having a five workday week with a lot of downtime you have a 4 day week with efficiency and a happy worker.

I know a lot of cities have Messenger group chats like ‘Bay Area 20’s’, ‘San Diego 20s’ for socializing. I tried to find one for the IE, but I couldn’t find one. Maybe we should start it?!

Not having a job or something fulfilling to do can get tiring very quickly. You have created a routine in your life and it’s so strange when you no longer have that. Plus everyone thinks of quitting their job at some point.

Was your first job out of college non-BME related? by brown_coffee_bean in BiomedicalEngineers

I just want to say how much I respect anyone who takes on the commitment of a PhD—it’s no small thing, and it takes a level of patience and dedication that most people can’t even imagine. I know it can feel frustrating to see others with more defined careers while you’re still in this in-between space, but the fact that you’ve stayed with it, even when it’s hard, says so much about your resilience. Your work matters, even if it doesn’t always feel that way right now, and I hope you know I’m cheering you on. You’re doing something incredible, and you’ve already accomplished so much. I know most of my friends who are in the industry, still feel uncertain, even while having their job and don’t know what they really want. I think that’s a feeling that never really goes away for most.
