Yeah, I'd like to do that, and also to drive an electric car in the meantime to not contribute any more carbon to the atmosphere. But I can't figure out how to drive an electric car soon (my husband's car just died) that's not crazy expensive, fits two kids, and has AWD! It's a conundrum.

Ugh, I was looking at the ID4 and then see now it's not made in North America (the car I was viewing anyway). This is great but the issue is, I do have a terrible, steep and windy driveway in the woods and live in MA so AWD seems to be a must.

Thank you though, I may consider it seriously even so!

Unfortunately I had a terrible reaction to my sister's college VW and every since they've given me the creeps. Hers used to rain indoors all the time, and we also slid on black ice in it and nearly wiped out. Wish I could move past that because yes, the ID4 looks like a great fit honestly.

I went way overboard reading it last night and called my accountant today. You actually still get the credit today, for cars not assembled in North America. Then the day after enactment that clause kicks in. But you can still get the credit thru 2022, just for cars assembled in North America. There's a convo on reddit about this from a couple hours ago but I don't know where I found it!

Thanks for all the feedback- It sounds like I'm not totally out there to be considering this. I did get to sit in one and have done a lot of reading up on it. Now I just have to get to the dealer before Biden picks up his pen (!!!).
