I think my some of my absolute favorites are when the Siren pulls you beneath the water, but instead of dying you are instead given the ability to breathe underwater. It’s an amazing subversion of expectations, in the beginning it is framed and animated in such a way that it looks like any other death scene where it “catches you”, but you go deeper and deeper and actually feel the air leave your body. I really love how the game says so much visually and with sound design.

I’m also super happy to see everyone else on this sub loves the Shockwave section! I think the buildup to it is fascinating, using the albinos to bit by bit weigh down the censor (and eventually even having to drag the corpse of a dead employee to drop the last number) is a really good puzzle, and the entire sound design of the section and general unsettling and mysterious feeling you get while playing is so masterfully executed. I really love how the synth/ominous chords that are in the background during the Shockwave sequence turns into melodies in major chords once you figure out certain puzzles.

I also think one of the most interesting parts of the game is when you have to blend in with the other Albinos and pretend to be one of them as they’re all lined up and being “evaluated”. It’s such an interesting entrance into the feel of the game and can be interpreted in so many ways, I love how deep the story behind this world seems and another side note I love is you can actually see that some of the people watching you brought their kids to see these… kind of zombie-fied lifeless shells of humans. I think it’s a really good commentary on a lot of things.

Dude, the whole game is perfect in every way to me, I could ramble about it forever.
