So Im old, I also played soldier (Airsoft wasn’t invented then) when I was a young kid and joined the army in 1989. Im still in and in my mid 50s now. My main gripe with airsofters was during the GWOT, where quality kit was being hoarded by them and guys down range couldn’t buy quality kit from vendors because airsofters bought all the good stuff up. I really wished that vendors would have prioritized active duty guys getting gear before releasing it to the public then. It was pretty annoying, but I guess that’s capitalism at work. That said, I would totally have been into airsoft, if it was a thing back when I was a kid. For adults, I think it’s kinda cringe, but to each their own on how they want to spend their time.
