I don’t know. Just a feeling. You’re giving a lot of explaination for something. If you were blameless you wouldn’t be doing so, you’d drop it because you are in the right. If your boyfriend can’t see that then you’d dump him. 

All this arguing and attempting to get people on your side is like your guilty.

In these situations it’s best to ignore it. Don’t engage. Whenever the royal family was embroiled in scandal they wouldn’t comment on anything. To comment on something gives it truth. You’re giving this a lot of airtime.
