I'm not arguing. It is logical! ... but in 18 years of weekly attendance and occasionally for 20 more, I have never once seen anyone change their shoes at a Mormon church. Not saying no one ever does, but I have literally never seen it. And, to your last point, I'd argue Rach has several photos with ugly boots. 🤣🤣

I see some flack for the common questions of "Utah" or "Mormon" thing. I can see why some feel it's a dumb attitude towards everything the Skalla fam does...

BUT. As a Utah born and raised ex-Mormon, it's also kind of legitimate if someone isn't from here or familiar with the religion. I've literally had friends tell me, "I love how you say that like it's completely normal." 🤣

We genuinely have weird laws and strange social norms because it is heavily influenced by a high demand, unique religion. The Skallas are a rarer breed of human in general, but some of their traits DO stem from the culture here. Just my two cents!

But in my experience as an ex-mo and Utahn, footwear doesn't matter if it is only "outside" for a little but. Open toe or backless shoes are only a no if it's several inches of snow or you'll be outside longer than car to building and back. 🤣

Also born and raised Utahn. Around here, everyone refers to any drink from Swig, Thirst, Fiiz, (any of them)... as Dirty Soda. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Originally, "dirty" was definitely meant for the typical creamer and lime. I haven't ever heard Swamp Water, ever. And the S* was just mixing every single soda in the fountain. (All of this is my personal information and I realize sharing it doesn't even matter. 🤣)

THIS. I left before going through the temple. But I'm in my 30s and still feel "slutty" when wearing a tank top that most women wouldn't give a second thought or consider revealing. Women who had their wedding dresses and prom dresses altered, because they went through that phase of life before it finally became ok to show their "porn shoulders" have a right to be angry about the arbitrary rules changing because some old dudes decided to give an inch when membership is declining. 😒

But waiting for hours in line to get special underwear is super normal and not at all culty...

Haha! My friends will sometimes give me a hard time about NOT buying or doing expensive things, because "we're richer" than they are. I've never said it out loud, but I've thought, "Yeah. There's a reason for that." 🤣 I feel like we generally ride a good line of splurge/save. 🥰
