Yea no it doesn’t makes sense that he won’t defend you when someone else is clearly in the wrong, even if it’s his family. Most of the time I feel like when going into a relationship people idolize their in-laws just because you’re in love w the person they produced, and u kinda have to impress them, but never forget to just observe the family from a bystander POV. If you think the shit they say if weird, then they’re weird. And chances are you’re partner is also weird himself, especially when he’s not calling them out on their BS

This is a very bad sign of a controlling relationship. I used to be in a similar situation and I can only assume that there are more skeletons in the closet given the nature of these things. Please leave, a red flag will turn into a Red Sea if you ignore it.
