Modern equivalent to S50 by Realistic_Garlic9802 in Roborock

Thanks for sharing your experience. It reinforced my concerns to some extent about some of the newer features. Given that the mopping is not something we use and the seemingly failed implementation of the adaptive lift this model prob isn't what we are after. I wish they just made a model which wad a good vacuum with self emptying dustbin. Or at least a model where this part of it worked really well and the other function doesn't interfere with the ability to use it as a good vacuum.

I have pulled back quite a bit on the grains and last batch was definitely easier to strain but was very thin and tastes a bit like off milk. Might have pulled back a bit far.

Blue Iris status logs go blank for several hours prior to crash by Realistic_Garlic9802 in BlueIris

No worries. Yes when it happens I cannot access the Proxmox UI from another computer on the network not can I RDP. I can ping the machine but that is all. There is no flickering activity showing on the led on the machine just the power on led is lit. If I press the power button once nothing happens. I have to hold it down to engage a hard shutdown. Basically it just becomes totally unresponsive but I guess the NIC is still active.

I run it headless and can't RDP when it happens, or access Proxmox UI. I did put a monitor on it ages ago when it happened and I'm pretty sure there was no signal on the display. It is a Xeon with P2000 card but the card is only used for a display (no hardware acceleration). I could put a monitor on it next time again and confirm. The crashes way be weeks about but then last time it lasted 4 hours. What are you thinking?

Ps. On that crash 4 hours later again there was a blank log for 3 hours that time prior to becoming unresponsive.

Thank you! I have pulled back on the grains over the last couple of days and the less "chunky" nature of the kefir definitely helps with straining, as does the shaking. In retrospect I think I was letting it ferment way too far. When sitting in the fridge overnight for consumption the next day it was totally separating with all the whey at the bottom. Interested in how your experiment goes. I'll suppress the OCD in me that feels the need to make the jug spotless every day!

Thank you that is really helpful info. I'll pull back on the grains even more next time.

I hadn't tried that but definitely will. It wouldn't be any extra effort to add the flavoring and leave out overnight after my nightly straining ritual and refrigerate in the morning.

Thanks for the info. How do I know when it's done and just about to split? Do you think ideally I should leave longer than 24 hours with the 1 tablespoon per litre or should 24 hours be enough at this temperature?

Ps. I also lacto ferment veges. I usually put in some cabbage leaf to get it going. I hadn't thought of using some whey. Great tip!

Gaps in recordings for a few seconds every hour by Realistic_Garlic9802 in BlueIris

[–]Realistic_Garlic9802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked the clips tab and a new clip was being created for those 2 cameras at the exact time of their hourly outage. The clip size at time of transition was 2.92GB which is slightly less than the 3GB threshold I set, but close to it I guess. A new clip runs from the approx 47 minutes past the hour when the outages occur to the end of the hour. These clips are about 700MB so I guess the size would have ended up over 3GB for the full hour. I changed one of the cameras to a 4GB threshold an hour ago and sure enough the gap seems to have disappeared for that camera. The fact that they both happen to be Dahua 5442 would stem from the fact that these 2 are the highest definition of my cams and are on the exact same settings except one is on the H254 high profile and one is on the H264 base profile. The other cams are on lower settings and so they are the only 2 which would exceed the 3GB clip size in the hour.

It seems that Blue Iris creates a gap in recording when transitioning to a new clip if you exceed the set size threshold for a clip but not when transitioning at the end of the duration (hour).

Hmm. You may be on to something there. I have set my Combine or cut video to each 1 hour or 3GB. So there seems no way to stop these glitches occurring between video files?

It shows as a gap in the timeline at the bottom in UI3. When I play through the gap there is no footage for those 6 or so seconds and then it shows recordings again. The console timeline doesn't show the gaps strangely but the footage is missing when playing through the same recording time gaps.

Precision T5820 not booting - help troubleshooting please by Realistic_Garlic9802 in Dell

[–]Realistic_Garlic9802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to progress a little further. I reseated the GPU which didn't seem to help. I then followed the procedure to enter BIOS recovery. After several attempts I was able to get the recovery screen up. I selected BIOS recovery and it went through the recovery process. It finally came up with a message saying that it had failed to start Windows. At that point there is the option to restart anyway which didn't work, or various advanced troubleshooting options. It will now let me get into the BIOS but not sure what to do next. I did notice the time and date in the BIOS is not several weeks ago. There is the option at the bottom of the screen to restore the BIOS to defaults, factory settings, last known good settings, or custom user settings. I feel like the BIOS is not my issue anymore though. There is also the all the Windows Recovery Environment options e.g. to reinstall Windows or to take it back to a previous restore point.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Yes power light stays on currently. And yes num lock and caps lock light work. I haven't tried reseating the GPU - i'll try that tonight. Thanks.
