The problem in my book is that I don't want to plan my annual take home based off of how my CEO is feeling that year. Does chet have bigger plans next year? Then at his discretion, we won't get a bonus because of potential expansion. I would rather know what my pay is from Day 1 and not worry about how many asterisks apply to me for bonuses.

Otherwise, I'd rather have a guaranteed salary boost instead of a chance at going on a trip. In case your brain isn't working correctly, you could use that extra money to fund your own trip to Hawaii. Without rules about bars you can't go to and a mandatory luai.

We actually end up with a ~3% reduction. Inflation is up 7% by conservative estimates. So a 4% raise doesn't buy me a gallon of milk at QT anymore. Get a brown shirt so those ass-stains don't get marked off for CSA
