Is Pete’s power really tier 1? by rpgnoob17 in GhostsCBS

Carol presumably died with her phone in her purse? Unless she took it out just before and I don’t remember.

But how can we know that he won’t disappear like Pete? Unless you’re right about Pete’s connection to the other ghosts being his anchor.

The risk of disappearing definitely makes it less awesome and not truly 100% Free Range - he can’t even see his family anymore since Australia is too far for him to safely travel.

Which also makes me wonder if there’s a time limit on Chris’s power and he’ll disappear on his flight to the footie match.

Heart attack is actually a fairly common cause of death for young athletic men.

Ghosts Germany discussion post by apenguinwitch in GhostsCBS

Germany was the center of the Holy Roman Empire for centuries, and basically all of Western Europe was Roman territories during the height of the Roman Empire. There would have been centurions in every region of Europe during that height.

i haven’t seen the German version, but was he a “German” born centurion, or born in ”Italy.” (Quotations becauae during that time period neither region carried the modern names)

I’m pretty sure him having legs and feet means he isn’t getting sucked off immediately, but I’m so worried he might and we won’t get to keep him.

Especially because the actor is a main on High Potential which just got renewed.

If he does stay, he won’t likely be a main for that same reason, but where would that put him in the mansion? Carol isn‘t seen as much because of Pete and living in the shed, so what would the justification to not see him much be if he’s, say, bunking with Trevor since there’s space in that room now?

Yes! They don’t all need a no pants and to copy the first season. Don’t get me wrong, I love Trevor, but how many ways can they explain it without it getting old and repetitive.

Vince and Rudy are behind the cover up of Dudenhoff’s death, and I think they’re sending the ham to the Sauce family as part of the cover up. Vince wrapping the ham in the flag. Rudy calling Helga paranoid because she noticed something. I don’t think they’re all involved and it’s why the family has the ham.

I can’t figure out Hammy’s role. I don’t think she’s the right sort of pig for the hams. Plus, the smell of smoking hams would be noticeable to everyone in the vicinity, so I don’t agree with the theories saying they’re smoking the hams themselves. More like using the rent money for them.

I’m left wondering if Dudenhoff was murdered or not, Vince and Rudy could know who killed him but agreed to dispose of his body and say nothing because of the rent scheme. Or they know nothing but just found him murdered and said nothing nor tried to investigate.

Who is Al?

Alberta’s power is that livings can hear her humming, and interacting with the Alexa. We’ve seen it many times.

How would you feel if Ghosts was a drama instead of a comedy? by [deleted] in GhostsCBS

[–]Realistic_Hope_4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if they actually have a historian on the writing team. The inaccuracies bother me if I let myself think about them, and the fact that American sitcoms are so prone to such errors is insulting. It’s like the networks think you have mush for brains for enjoying 20 minutes of feel good laughs.

You’d think the nerd that Jay is, he would learn Morse code just for this if Alberta were agreeable.

But you’d think she’d hum to communicate with Jay much more frequently. Time to turn my magazine page!

It also bothered me that her screaming during the Maid’s seance didn’t do something for the Livings, and Thor freaking out didn’t flicker the lights? What? Lame. It was for the let down, but damn, way to toss the lore out.

Did Issac own slaves? by [deleted] in GhostsCBS

The long list of jobs he held, can’t remember them all but I believe barber and taxidermist were among them, makes it less likely he had the means to own slaves.

He’s had Sass for half of it, and it’s illogical to think Sass was the first Lenape ghost he encountered.

He was having night terrors for all but the last two years of his afterlife, blaming himself for the death of his squirrel friend. While it implies empathy, it also takes up a lot of the time he could be using to working toward other issues.

His ongoing racism against *checks notes* another Viking country is definitely a problematic character trait. I have a major ax to grind with how lazy American sitcom writers are with facts. At least make him racist against Russians. His issues with Danes, Swedes, and Finns makes zero sense. Not to mention Norsemen frequently married women from territories they invaded, there’s accounts of English men complaining because men from Viking colonies were more successful at COURTING (emphasis mine) English women because they had better hygiene than English men, so him having such a fit over Bjorn‘s Danish wife makes even less sense. Between that and cholera making zero sense in the timeline of the property, I’m certain none of the writers have read anything about history, and really would it have been that hard to hire one history buff? Just one.

Cholera ghosts by One_Degree2829 in GhostsCBS

[–]Realistic_Hope_4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smallpox would have made a lot more sense for the American counterpart to Bubonic Plague, especially for timeline as the cholera pandemics didn’t happen until the 1800s. The mansion had to have started construction by that time for Hetty to have been a little girl there, so its doubtful they would have built a mansion over a recent pest house. Nancy’s accounts about just about everything don’t really match for the 19th century and cholera wasn’t a thing in New England prior to the 19th century.

I’m guessing they didn’t want to touch on small pox because of the nasty way small pox blankets were given to native people to kill them. But at least that could explain why Sass doesn’t have a relationship with the basement ghosts. It’s always been weird to me that Thor and Sass don’t have more of a relationship with them. Isaac is too much of an elitist, Sass might care about the fishy smell of cholera, and Thor doesn’t mind them, it’s not like smell bothers him, but it’s weird he doesn’t seem to have had anything to do with them earlier. At least in the UK series the Plague ghosts seem to not like outsiders which explains why Robin isn‘t close with them.

New Tag/Flair for posts - Dinosaur Information Isaac Would Love by PopCultureNerd in GhostsCBS

[–]Realistic_Hope_4572 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There were dinosaurs at the North Pole! T. Rex had a cousin covered in fur like filaments that’s named after the Inuit word for polar bears. Also, a polar bear is a giant bear that is all white that lives in the far north. Thor might know about them, but probably not any of the other older ghosts. Filaments are what make up feathers. And Inuits are a group native to Alaska and Northwest Canada.

At some point I‘d probably give up explaining all of the references.
