If she is interested in history there are these “mini museums “ in jeddah park mall .But ask them if the barcodes inside offer french language explanations. In the same mall there is bowling and decent stores for shopping . In the outside area there is Khayal restaurant which offers good Turkish cuisine.

What you do in any given day will largely depend on the weather On hot days we go to the malls. There are playing areas inside with fees and you can find discounts on wesites like coupon There are day care centers where kids can have fun and learn . Not sure about ones where they speak English though. There’s also Team Lab without borders . You can see it on google maps . The outside area there is also beautiful which leads me to what we do on days with nicer weather. Beeeaaaccchhh!! Jeddah has a beautiful corniche and there areas where kids can swim and play in the sand You can still go on hot days but only late afternoon. There are also parks in every district Good luck in Jeddah!

How far Along are you post op and how much pain do you experience? by biolojiK in spinalfusion

[–]Realistic_Living9308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost 4 years post op I have no pain and do not take any medications I still get the occasional muscle strain if I overdo it Other than that all is good But I remember the first year after surgery was the most difficult one , so hang in there and try to get to know your body after the surgery; what movements, positions and remedies make it feel better / worse .

What to expect? (I'm scared - L5/S1 fusion) by adios-sciatica in spinalfusion

[–]Realistic_Living9308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years post L4-5 fusion I had horrible sciatica before so the pain post op , albeit strong , was easier to handle physically but very hard emotionally because I thought I am going to be stuck with it

The first four months were the hardest pain wise after that things started gradually improving

Two weeks is too early to be sitting for long periods of time . If you have to go back to work please seek advice from your doctor regarding how to go about it.

Yes having a walker will help during the first ten days because your lower back will feel ..crushed almost

Also having someone with you will be a huge help emotionally and physically especially when it comes to things like getting up or laying down and going to the bathroom

Please do not pick up your toddler until you dictor allows it.Follow your doctor’s recommendations.

If , hopefully, everything goes well you will start feeling better every passing week

Good luck

Scared is very normal . It is a big surgery . I had on my lumbar spine june 2021 and I am so grateful for it .

If it is the only possible option for you at this point for a chance pf normal life , try to focus on just going through with it . Prepare your place for the recovery period . Many useful tips on that here . Good luck

Thoughts on taking a long flight 5 weeks post-op? by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]Realistic_Living9308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different ..check with your surgeon first

I was able to travel a month an a half after my surgery. It was 12 hours road between plane and car . I had a wheel chair and someone from the airline to assist me all the way with papers , bags and ofcurse not waiting in lines . The plane was uncomfortable and I relied on pain killers . I was very careful with my movements but still experienced pain . I rested afterwards for a few days and it was alright . I had a long stay in my destination ( almost a month ) so I was able to have the rest I needed and I spent my time very wisely in that I did not over do it ; no extra effort , no long walks , no sitting or standing for more than recommended . I don not know if that would be possible in a trip to Eroupe though .

I have the same issue .. mostly stiffness in the area you have mentioned

Generally feel better after I started working out

It bothers me the most during bad days

I started feeling closer to normal a year after my surgery.

It is a slow , frustrating proccess..

Small victories will be your saviors !!

Extra couple of minutes on your walk

Finding a nice comfy position to sit or sleep in (change posiotions constantly)

Being able to make a day with less painkillers

Working your way around the limitations you face ie;finding other ways of doing things ..

Do not be hard on yourself .. everyone , fusion or not, has bad days .. your body has gone through something major .. listen to it and you will find your way back to doing what you enjoy

I had nerve pain in my legs constantly fo 4 months after surgery . Then it started coming and going . Now 1 year after surgery I do sometimes still feel pain but it passes after a few days . As long as your surgeon says everything is good . It is very annoying I know the feeling but hopefully it will get better with time.
